Suggestions please:

I am about to head of to college, I need some good fucking
speakers for my pc.
I can't stand shitty-ness when I listen to music.
But I dont plan on spending more than like $100. What is my
best bet?
-Thanks

^hehe :)...

I've got a nice pair of Yamaha YST speakers with my PC at
home...2 little satelite speakers & a SubBass unit...

Great Sound...and the subbass box adds another dimension...

Don't know how much they cost but I reckon you'll easily
pick a set up for <$100....

hello mr kryocera heres a quick note- to make quality
sounding mixes on your pc you must use flat responce
speakers, these are specialy acousticly tested monitor
speakers and they are flat responce, meaning that they are
not like hi-fi speakers (which are often warmed up ie they
are made in such a way as to give lower bass frequencies)
flat responce means just that, they will give you a true
sound rather than a hi fi boosted interpritation!

if i make music using my home hifi amp and speakers when i
come to play the end results back at a friends house or in
the car the sound is more than often flat and not very
entertaining!

where as the tunes i make on the flat responce monitors
sound full and have a bit more depth (if the music sounds
good on the flats then it will definately sound good on a
home hifi system)

in most studios from bedroom home kits to massive studios
the industry standard flat responce speaker is this one -

the yamaha ns10s i think are not being made any more, but
they do have a younger brother check them out on the yamaha
site????

dingle...that's just for Music Making/Mixing tho, isn't
it?...

Flat Response speakers will sound pretty dull if you're
listening for pleasure...

yep your right mr jand, i just thought that fuck it! buy
nice monitors for making music and buy huge old wooden
speakers from a junk electrical store (my speakers i bought
the other day are huge KEFs and they tump like bitch!)

if i had the money id buy a posh stereo but i want more
synths and a computer b4 all that!

under $100 dollars?

Altec Lansing ATP 3
Altec Lansing ATP 3

i was in teh same boat as u a month or two ago...... i
needed good speakers w/a subwoofer for no more than $100...
these are good
the sub is very very nice...
it CAN be very powerful if u want it to, yet its usually not
to intrusive
the volume and bass/trebble controls are right on the
sattelite so its easy to access (some companies put the
controls on the subwoofer!)
the sound is very nice and clear at up to medium
volumes.....
of course it loses clarity if it gets really loud, but these
are 100 dollars what do u expect

hehe
(btw i bought these and they're great, that was the point of
my post!)
