deadwhitespoon's inquiries into Electronic Music Culture
announces:

The LITERARY ACID TEST:

presumtion:
all readers of this mb are IDM fans, therefore all
samples from the below test will be representitive of
Electronic Music Culture.

The Test:

Select five (5) of the below listed Literary Titles of
Quality (?) and list in order of preference. As the number
of lists grows, we will be able to better ascertain the
nature the IDM fan's mind...

The List:

1. Choas (James Glick)
2. Neuromancer
3. Lord of the Rings (trilogy)
4. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (trilogy + 2)
5. Godel, Escher, Bach
6. Like Water for Chocolate
7. Stupid White Men
8. Naked Lunch
9. Time's Arrow (or the Nature Of the Offense)
10. any thing by Iain Banks
11. any thing by Iain M. Banks
12. Acid House
13. If on a winter's night a traveller...
14. The House of the Spirits
15. Skinny Legs and All

Like all genuine scientific inquiries, this one is deeply
skewed by the designer of the experiment. If there is an
additional title of your own liking that is not on the list,
include it in your list of six (6) titles.

I will post my own personal selections in a day or two in
order to bring this thread back to the top...

go to 'er!

well ive read 03.lord of the rings
04.hitch hickers guide..
08.naked lunch
12.acid house
and im not putting them in any specific order as i prefer
reading history/philosophy books .....what a stupid fucking
topic-what because we have similar tastes in music we`ll
have the same tastes in books[not saying we dont]but making
people choose from a list......well of course your going to
find similarieties[especially with some of the books youve
mentioned....ie.popular-LOTR,HHGTTG etc.]So maybe if you
asked people to list their fav. books you might get a more
realistic answer.im bored as well.
