depeche mode rocks! KMFDM stands for something else. what
about pigface? their first album has trent reznor (NIN)
william rieflin and en esch (KMFDM) and a bunch of other
people, however they sound nothin like NIN or KMFDM. more
experimental. it's totally crazy to trip to.

good.

i have every NIN cd ever released, including singles,
remixes, albums and whatnot. also every unreleased song and
every unreleased remix, except for a few independent remixes
(which usually suck anyway) truly a great band, the one that
introduced me to noises made by *gasp* computers.

that's a toughie. probably not.
mainstream folk are put off by
the lyrics and sound and don't
take the time to understand that
there is an artist behind it all.
i've know people who've thought this way, and then one day
they actually
LISTEN, and whether they are goth
or skater or whatever, they start to appreciate, and
sometimes even like it.

Pigface - Fook

My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult - I See Good Spirits and I
See Bad Spirits, Confessions of a Knife

KMFDM - Nihil, Angst, Naive, Xtort

And KMFDM stands for Kein Mitleid Fur Den Massen (I think),
which translates to No Pity For the Majority. The "Kill
Mother Fucking Depeche Mode" is just a joke/rumor, probably
spawned by their song "KMFDM Sucks" off Angst, in which they
sarcastically say they "we don't like Michael Jackson, we
hate Depeche Mode, we don't care for Madonna or Kylie
Minogue.."

If you're into bands like this I suggest Pop Will Eat
Itself, they've got a lot of fun stuff. PWEI features Clint
Mansell, the guy who did the soundtracks to Pi and Requiem
For a Dream.

Or you might want to skip that all together and dive right
into Skinny Puppy, get everything you can. I think they are
the kings of this genre, that's just my opinion.

Skinny Puppy anyone? That was loooong ago for me...could
never really accept NIN after my affir with Ogre and crew.

Will old-style Ministry ever come back (NO! Not everyday is
Hallow'en -- I'm thinking Flash Back and Land of Rape and
Honey)?

I will always have "Supernaut!" by 1,000 Homo DJs roaring in
the back of my hed...

then I went ambient...

Damn Steve, you have such a good taste......Those are my
faves, except,I love all of KMFDM releases except Adios and
from Pigface, their very first 3 releases, plus their last
one, wich is a nice comp of all their live music according to
their fans, for me an excellent release...

Skinny puppy, are kidding man, that was one of the bands that
got me addicted to industrial music, along with Ministry(and
all of AL Jorgensen projects),Front line assembly and Nitzer
Ebb........

offline deadwhitespoon from Vancouver (Canada) on 2002-07-07 07:22 [#00300089]

I wasn't quite blackcoat industrial back then but: Nitzer
Ebb!
How 'bout Meat Beat Manifesto (a little to political),
Consolidated or going Waaay Back...Cabaret Voltaire!
sensoria...sensoria

Hmmm very nice taste, wow you like Cabaret Voltaire, what
about the weird experimentations of Throbbing Gristle, but
then again,CV was more experimental......
And yes,I just like everything Jack Dangers does, like Meat
Beat Manifesto,Consolidated,most recently the music
production of EBN and some of his solo efforts, including the
Tino's Breaks/Tino's Beats projects.........

Haven't had my ear out in that direction in a while...have
no idea what's out there anymore, other than I can hear tiny
echos of the past in almost everything else!
What is the current meat out there? What's really worth the
listen?

Ok my friend,Jack Dangers has 2 solo releases wich I
recomend, this years Variaciones Espectrales and the first
one from 2001 Hello Friends,even though I'm a big JD fan,I
recomend getting Variaciones and then Hello Friends, good
music and right there you'll see who Meat Beat
is,basically/musically is all him......
