finding the major releases.

Welcome rzezniq

Same here, but I think he's getting a bit more popular now
because of Come to Daddy and Windowlicker(videos)

in poland you cant get any lp`s. you must import them from
germany and they are very expensive. abot 15$ normal person
in poland earns 200$ so its hard to buy them.

even though it's mostly junktion that buys our music, i know
it's hard to find any in our town too... don't think it's
that big of a problem in copenhagen.... -but here in aalborg
it's mostly techno and pop that sells.... it's to bad.....

I don't know anybody else in this city that even knows who
he is. I have the only copy of Drukqs that I've ever seen in
stores. Other than the RDJ Album, it's impossible to find
anything resembling IDM here.

UK is up on all but the rarest releases.
Just got AB3 in a local shop last week for £7.99
and all his 6(?) major release LP's are available in
HMV/Virgin/ourprice etc.

I even saw SAW85-92 for £4.99 . Takes the piss

I have a bit of stuff where I live (New Jersey)...Aphex Twin
was Drukqs, RDJ, Windowlicker, AB3, ICBYD, Saw85,
SawII...yeah that's about it. Squarepusher isn't too bad
either for a mainstream music store...but of course I
download everything anyway so it's not like I care. I would
however like to see BoC and Ae more...or at all.

i am the only person i know in my town (roseburg OR, pop.
20,000) who listens to Afx except for this stupid drug
addled guy i went to hi school with. no one in town sells
afx except sam goody for frickin 20 bucks, and they only
have his two most popular albums. i have a feeling it's the
same in a lot of small towns and cities who's only exposure
to music it tv. sad, really.

Ive noticed a lot of mainstream "artists" are namedropping
aphex at the moment so you all might find it easier from now
on purchasing the goods. Or you good just download them all
for free from morpheous.

more hard to find too, 51/13 singles, expert know twiddlers,
on, on remixes, ventolin etc. skivhuset in malmö is
suprisingly good!!

it's actually easy here, i think. i tried to buy analogue
bubble bath (i don't remember which one) but it was wierd,
like, they have this system where they display all of the
inlays from the cds, and you bring it to them, and all the
cds are in the back. and they only had the inlay, they had
no clue where the cd was. that sucked :/ it was probably
under afx and the creepy ass record store guy was looking
under aphex. i realized much too late.

categorise ALL warp/rephlex as 'experimental'

offline ecnadniarb on 2002-07-07 16:15 [#00300289]

AB3 never had an inlay, It was a plain silver CD, no
markings at all, a slimline jewel case with just a small
peice of paper inside with Rephlex etc. on it.

um, yeah. i know about ab3. it wasn't actually an inlay, it
was just a piece of paper that said something like "analogue
bubblebath (some number)" and a price. if i had seen an
inlay i would've remembered which one it was.

I never was a fan of Richard James untill a realised not to
take him for face value. I've been a dj since 1991 (techno
only). Aphex twin isn't club music but every so often he'll
come out with these trax that are "all over the scale".
Brilliant, offendsive, and even hilarious and then my
interest is peaked as if he if it was the first time I'd
ever heard of him. Windowlicker blew me away, with it's
dance moves and smooth yet abrasive melody, as where Come to
daddy was just a visual side show and did nothing for me.
(other than trip me out and make me laugh). I'll definately
hold Richard James in high regards from now on though...

No problem getting any of the stuff available from warpmart

Let's just hope R.James doesn't become so popular that it's
a top 40 trend. Prodigy used to be cool but they sold out
and now they suck. At least Aphex Twin is more of an
accuired taste and He doesn't have to try and be a freak to
get noticed, He just is a freak. LOL

When Windowlicker was just released I went into a music
store (leading edge music) and asked of they had it. The guy
asked if it was in the chart. I said in the UK it was but
not here. And he said if it's not in the Australian chart we
don't have it. What a Bastard store!!! And I was depressed
because no other stores had it, and this was before I got
onto the net.

A local chain-store is pretty good (JB-Hi). They got BoC's
Geogaddi on import a few days after it came out in the UK
and they charged normal price. I've also got SAW 85-92 from
them. Though most of my Aphex CD's have been bought from the
UK and USA on the net.

oops! I left out the "Fi" in Hi-Fi :)

Yes, they are great! I havent been there that many times
because it is very out of the way but they have come in
handy a few times. For Christmas they were wonderful. I
wanted SAW85-92 and the Fight Club 2 Disc DVD set. Sanity
and others said they could order SAW but it would come in
January. And every place had only the 1 disc Fight Club. JB
had both, and for a good price. Yay! :)

Princo, do you know of www.dstore.com.au? I got my Drukqs
from them for $15!! =D
