We should get together for the warp minitour

7/31 -- New York // Shelter

Line Up:
LFO DJ
DJ Ease (Nightmares On Wax)
Prefuse 73
Richard Devine
Jamie Lidell
Chris Clark
Boom Bip (sans LA)
Warp DJs

Special Guests:
NYC -- Dntel.

It would be cool to get to meet some of you people and if
you need a place to crash in the city my place would be
available (for up to 6 heads or so). Plus we could spin
some of my electronic records & chill-out,
before/afterwards

let me know, I only have a few friends here who are as
crazy enough about this shit as we are, so I'm always
looking for electronica-heads.

I just sent warp this letter:

I have been a devoted electronic music lover since I was
about 14 years old, introduced by my older brother who is a
classical pianist. Although I am much more involved in the
genre now (18yrs) than he (23yrs) is , I have only a few
friends who are as into it as I am, and I discuss and enjoy
the music mainly with him and a few others. The reason I
bring up age so much is this:

I was very excited when you announced the mini-tour for the
U.S.A., (Warp Records being the best record label on the
planet). But when I went to the Club Shelter (I live in New
York City) website I noticed that their usual club activity
is 21 and over admission. I'm sure that the mini-tour will
have the same age requirements. I really hate this rampant
ageism as I call it, because its a totally arbitrary measure
of responsibility. I have no desire to drink Alcohol at the
venue, I just want to hear your amazing music. But I can't,
because other people will be drinking alcohol, and they will
probably be too lazy to do the 18 to enter, 21 to drink
(with a wristband) policy.

If there is any way you guys could contact the venue in new
york, Club Shelter, and request that they have a special 18
to enter policy for this event, I would be extremely
grateful, and so would my brother, because we would have a
great time together. Not to mention many other under 21
electronic music fans in the area that I have talked to on
online electronic music communities and message boards who
are really anticipating this show.

To me its rediculous that I should have to try to get a fake
ID and scheme my way into a place just to hear and dance to
the music I love. But sometimes that's just the way it is.
I know that this is not your policy and sometimes the
circumstances are out of your control. But if you would at
least make the attempt it would be a great gesture. Please
let me know via email! Either way, I will keep supporting
you guys until you guys stop releasing music, or I can't
afford to buy you

I doubt they will sell out until at MOST a few days before
the show. I am in Cali right now but I will be back the day
after tommorow and I will pick them up at othermusic. I'll
probably order them online first. I just have to figure out
who is going besides myself, my bro most definately and
possibly some friends, once I find that out I will order all
the tickets. I'll put an avatar up of myself so that you
can recognize me at the show or beforehand...I'll prolly be
wearing my black 7\fx t-shirt.

I've never even been there before. And I'd be driving, and
be all by myself. I told a friend of mine about it, even
though he's not that big into this kind of music, but he
can't go. That's ok, if I wait long enough RDJ himself is
bound to come to Albany. Hahaha. :P

You've probably seen them on some tv shows, like Matt Walsh
from the Daily Show, Amy Poehler from SNL. And the other
guys have parts in lots of movies.
