....and only ONCE.

I am not a big fan of either of the Selected Ambient Works.
Neither 85-92, or II. I've been waiting to say it for a
while now, but wasn't sure if I was ready for the ... whats
the word ... hate I will probly receive for not liking
these. If I did have to choose one of the two, I would take
85-92. Ther, I said it!

SAW85-92 is a masterpiece imo... I can't say anything to you
for not liking it, cause different people like different
things... SAWII doesn't do much for me with the exception of
a couple songs...

I prefer the laster works of aphex but saw1 and 2 are both
good. they just take a while to get used to. although I
just got saw1 i think its much easier to like than 2. 2 is
more acquired taste shall I say in that you need more
patience to get to know the cd and puts off many people
because its strictly ambient without much drums in it which
makes saw1 a little easier for most to listen to because it
has drums and less lengthy. but after you listen to saw2
for a while its great. I like drukqs the most though, its
very cohesive unlike many say\said at first judgement.

lol...well, hate def. isnt the right word.
sometimes, tho, on here ther are people that get bashed
pretty good for disliking something. i couldn't see most
people on here sayin anything to bad.
others, on the other hand
*cough*R*Cough*F*cough*L*cough*X*cough*
dunno if you'll get that.

yeah im not really sure what im doing here. But seeing as no
one ever talks about afex twin anyway, I dont see a problem.
Its more like boc.nu anyhow.

It's cool though, right now if I had to pick two favorite
Aphex Twin releases I'd pick SAW85-92 and Drukqs... quite
the contrast there, but it just shows how much RDJ has
changed since he started...

aphex is almost never the topic I think because its a given
that everyone likes his stuff here because they came to this
site in the first place, so they talk about other people
like other warp artists and lesser known people instead.

and thank god they do! my mp3 collection would still be
around 200 mp3s, instead of 2000 if it wasnt for this
place.

which also means my cd collection would still only include
maybe 30 cds.

i probably have 450 cds. Probably about $20 each. Probably
spent around $10,000 on music.

why sob? i wish i had that many cd's. i wouldn't care how
much i'd spent, overall its a good investment.

do cd's ever stop working?

im goin to north carolina soon and im gonna take a bunch for
the long trip. but i dont ever wanna take all or even close
to all of my cds because if they were stolen i dont know
whatd id do. i have about 100 burned cds i didnt count in
250 cds making it 350 with burned cds. i never listen to
most of them. theyres a lot of mix cds and rare stuff or
out of print which are hard to find or cds that aren't
really worth owning and i never listen to anyways. I need
authenticity in cds i like for some reason. i just cant
listen to like smashing pumpkins, aphex, modest mouse if
theyre not authentic for some reason which can be a problem
sometimes.

I have a list of about 150 more cds that I want too. I want
to get them all eventually and this list doesnt include
future releases. damn these cds they just keep coming. I
dont even wanna imagine how many ill have by the time im
like 30 even let alone an old person.

well, ther are a select few albums/artists i only buy the
real thing from..but saying ONLY doesn't count. what has
been happening a lot lately is i burn an album (since i left
you, by the avalanches last week) and i like it so much, i
need the authentic, real thing with the insert and al that.
aphex twin, the chemical brothers, fatboy slim, leftfield,
and console are a few that i've bought lately, after hearing
my burned copy.

hey d00d, i'm 13, and can think of hundreds of things i want
now, and not to mention releases from everyone i like coming
out in the future, like you said. i want to be with cd's,
like norman cook is with vinyl. studios and studios full of
them!
