Conversation pitch idea

I had this idea last night regarding a new way of making
music. It's based around recording a conversation or even
just one person talking.

When someone talks, the pitch of their voice naturally goes
up and down, i.e. when he or she asks a question, the pitch
goes up at the end. ("Where's the bathroom?") I think it
would be very interesting to cut and paste and stretch bits
of conversation to make a melody to put in a song.

Has this ever been done before? If so, by whom and where
can i hear it?

Oh yeah, and no pitch shifting allowed

I read about an album that was made entirely by chopping up
human voices, im not suire if they pitchshifted them or not.
I cant remember off the top of my head. It was reviewed at
Pitchfork. I think it came out in the last year or so.
Anyway maybe you can find some info.

I don't really want to stomp all over your idea and what
have you... but that is actually pretty common. Altho the
only name I can think of right now that is even remotely
similar to give you would be 'negativland'.

I never said it was completely original. I'd just never
heard it before

I think Randy Greif does these type of experiments as well.
Good idea, I think it's very creative if you think of this
yourself without having previously heard about it.

Didn't one band release a version of Pink Floyds Bike
song...using just cutup voices of Sid James (famous Carry On
Actor)...

Can't remember the name of the band tho, but think it was
around 1992(ish)...

scanner did a lot of work with voices, putting music to
conversation.
one track off of delivery is really dark emotional ambient
music to a guy about to commit suicide.
its fucked.
