Jega - geometry
Brothomstates - Claro
Plaid - Double figure
Astrobotnia - part 1
Bochum Welt -(if so , which?)
autechre - EP7 or LP5

I will buy 2 or 3 on Tuesday, but I want them all, so which
in your opinion are the best to get and which represent
money errantly spent ?

most MP3's i try to download aren't compatible with my
pathetic mac technology...

*anyone who says "get a proper computer" is neither funny
nor original :)*

PLAID

Geometry and LP5 have had much more long-lasting appeal than
the others. You don't hear a whole lot of new stuff going
on after your 25th listening of a Plaid album.

plaid and jega then...
maybe Brothom, cos the scandinavians here like it, and it
sounds quite cool.
(don't ask me why, when they gave us Aqua and Roxette , but
I respect Scandinavians musical integrity for some unknown
irrational reason :)

yeah...i think bjork, sigur ros, mum, arovane, and
bothomstates are good enough to make up for aqua, ace of
base, and abba

Jega - definitely. And LP5 & EP7. Those will last you far
longer than the others.

Double Figure...definelty
EP7 and LP5 are both excellent...though LP5 is slightly more
together and EP7 slightly more abstract...your tastes should
be the final say
I only have Qtio..which is very competent and entertaining
IDM..dont know about Claro...

Darude's "Before the Storm" is better than all of those.
(Seriously!)

I love Jega geometry and Lp5.

I say skip on Plaid. What I have heard I find bland and
predictable.

"God I hate techno or whatever that loop dance crap is".

Isn't Aphex Twin "techno" himself, only a different kind? of
Course!!!

And anyway I was joking. . . although I do own the cd and
it really isn't THAT bad.

And also it goes to show that you don't know too much about
electronica if you'd say an ignorant thing like that, and
call it "techno".

offline Apt_Zet from Afghanistan on 2002-07-01 00:45 [#00290880]

Who said I knew anything about electronica? I don't and
quite proudly mind you.

Electronics is a broad term. So broard it could mean any
music created electronically. Do you know much about
country? If your not interested in it you likely don't. As I
don't know jack about techno.

It's in the writting and sound that aphex differs. I
wouldn't touch electronica with a ten foot pole but I love
aphex to death. I was way to harsh and I apologise
deathsmith.

I own darudes cd, i like it.

It's fun and catchy. So shut the fuck up. Not everything has
to be an "aphex twin".

=)

Ya and there is others cd's I like aswell but they weren't
in the guys list. Read before your teenage mouth flies off
again.

Though thanks for being the biggest asshole on this thread
now.

Hehe yeah in fact the only dissapointing things about the
Darude cd's are those two remixes at the end. . . I think
it's a rather cheap excuse for filler.

The first song Sandstorm I would enjoy lots if I hadn't have
heard it 1000 times on the radio first. -_-

Burning is pretty good, pretty much average hard house with
some interesting elements, but those vocals annoy me.

Feel the Beat is great, in my opinion.

Out of Control is unremarkable, feels like a Feel the Beat
ripoff or something. . .

Touch Me Feel Me is Darude's attempt at chillout material,
and it's very predictable, but not half bad.

Calm Before the Storm is something of an oxymoron, since
it's a very upbeat and energetic song.

the next two songs I actually liked quite a bit; they
weren't predictable and were somewhat original.

The Flow is technically the ending song (the two ending
remixers are sorta bonus tracks, I suppose), and it's got a
fast annoying rap line, and dissapointingly enough goes
nowhere.

Anyway overall the cd is at least worth burning and
listening to but not buying.
