I love his new song... I haven't heard much by him, but his
new song is great... it's the one where in the video this
space man guy find this duck trapped in ice, and melts the
ice and blah blah blah... it's a cool song!!

his stuff deserves a listen I think.
I've heard disillusion (I think thats the name) and the
collab track with UNKLE Nursery Rhyme, both very good.

his new cd of that soundtrack, made me not want to listen to
it at all just because of the fact that it is a soundtrack
to about a boy. if it was an actual release just under
badly drawn boy I might listen but for some reason the
soundtrack thing makes me uninterested. his first album was
ok, the songs weren't varied enough for me. there were some
very good songs on it though. its better than a lot of those
britrock bands today like coldplay, travis etc.

I know FourTet was involved/played-with BDB, but I have not
heard them/him. What's the sound like? Is a lyrical thing, a
music thing, a production thing, a hype thing?

MachineofGod you HAVE to listen to that soundtrack more
often. It's brilliant! I don't think I could ever tire of
the songs on there. A Peak You Reach is another classic.

He reminds me of tom jenkinson. Not to sure why, but they
both are really good with instruments/look similar.

I think BDB's stuff is excellent, nice acoustic music, well
written and quite catchy

I cried the first time I saw "Silent Sigh". He gonna make
the "Ok Computer" for the new millenium.

Nick Hornby is funny, like his Erlend Loe-style

I love his arrangements and production. Great songwriter,
bit of a geek though. He reminds me of Harry Nilsson (but
minus a ton of charisma).

The Hour of Bewilderbeast is such a sweet album...

I only have the "about a boy" soundtrack - some great songs
on that.

your description, Carl, of his music being comforting seems
pretty well chosen.

on a sidenote, is that a dragqueen on the front of that
cosmopolitan?

that "cellular" thing.

"Once around the block" is a lovely song. I've got one of
his earlier EPs as well, which is mildly good.
