actually, I want to know if I should buy it too.. so
apologies for appearing to 'pour scorn' cygnus.
Its just that its hard to appreciate music when you're
relying on 'words' from people who have differing tastes
anyhow. I'll check some samples before i buy it. One thing I
would ask.. If AB. had made one Aphex track , which one
would it have been ?(which sounds most like them )

yeah but everyone likes what I like, i'm a beacon of taste,
and I don't like AB

well, I do, but I don't think the sun shines out of its
arse, metaphorically speaking

give out freebies!

Is hard normal daddy significantly better than go plastic ?
Go P! is not very good IMO. apart from in thin snippets.

eh, I wouldn't really compare them at all. if you don't like
GP, don't worry, i'm sure you'd like HND...its easy to see
why people don't like GP

male pill part 13 is so underrated, I never hear people
talking about it, but its possibly one of 'IDM's greatest
moments

Ok, thanks for solving the rep[hlex/warpmart confusion Ben.
Mebbes' I'll buy stuff from there more often.. But I gotz A
great store in Nottingham that sells all the IDM stuff @
very good prices,,.. and I DO like going into shops &
browsing (spend f**ing hours some days :)

want.. Mellow 'pusher..

its mellower in the context that its not screeching
industrial noises like GP, its very funky jazzy electronic!
its possibly my favourite kinda hybrid album

please tell me what you think when you get it!

also, if you ain't heard much pusher, I can slap you
together a cd of his best stuff

beep street and male pill pt. 13 are my two favorites from
hnd. there's not a bad track on it, though. nothing beats
the insane amount of layered rhythms on rustic raver!

Who exactly is Astrobotnia? Described in the press release
as a ‘Mystery Rephlex Artist’, it seems almost
inconceiveable that anybody but Richard D James could be
behind this staggeringly well-produced material. OK, so
that’s precisely what we’re meant to think, right? But,
alas, you really would have to conclude that no one but the
Twin is capable of production at this level. Take
‘Everyone’, for example, percussive treatments lifted
straight off Icct Hedral, sped up funky drummerisms
stretched into Drukqs-flavoured breakbeat mentalisms, all
the while accompanied by pure Aphex strings and harmonies.
Or ‘Miss June’s’ stripped crisp tweaks and slight
harmonic adjustments that ever so slightly Jar, all thrusted
so unbeleivably effortlessly into perfection. As if to
confuse or affirm your suspicions even further, the closing
‘Applause’ even sounds as if it employs the same
Prepared Piano that sprinkled Drukqs with it’s Satie-esque
charm late last year. To conclude, this really has to be the
Twin, and if it ain’t.....erm....Rephlex have just landed
themselves the debut electronic material of the decade.
Essential.
