better than geogaddi - bola fyuti

ive listened to fyuti a lot of times, but now that i bought
it a gave it many 'proper' listens (car, home stereo,
headphones), i think it's way better than geogaddi. every
boc fan should really try this album, it really blows my
mind! bola is on top of his game right now...

i'd even say that (at least for my taste) it's even better
than mhtrtc, but i wont, because i'll get killed by some of
you hardcore boc fanatics...

any thoughts?

well... i do find it hard to believe that its better...
cause BoC is on nonstop here... and its just so intense and
amazing... unlike anything else ive heard...

but i am open minded... and will give this guy a try.

Is he on warp? or what?

ive honestly never heard of him.

oh yeah, and i know you cant really compare two artists,
people will shout the cliché "why CORTEX, it's like
comparing apples and oranges, you cant really do that...".
but they still are somewhat similar.

I think this Bola album is superior, yes...Veronex Cypher
and Pae Paoe are good tracks from the album.

i'm totally exausted from electronica
i usually go in cycles (doesn't everything?)
gotta listen to some chili peppers, black rebel motorcycle
club and supergrass
otherwise i'd check it out, sounds interesting

I agree, this album is better than Geodaggi, it's also
better than most albums. Give it a listen.

Geogaddi, even. Must be getting late...

''i know what you mean, sometimes i just got to listen to
some guitars and some singing!''

Yeah, I go by cycles... I'm in SUCH a rock mood right now,
everything I'm listening to has *gasp*, guitars!

Geodaggi, haha... that's the funniest thing I've read all
day... I'm easily amused. :-/

Fyuti is floating into space among the galaxies planets and
nebulas and possibly aliens, whereas Geogaddi is going on a
trip into nature with your children/family... heh

MUCH better than geogaddi IMO.

i love bola, the bloke is a ace, i prefer soup myself
though.

earthleakage - what type of apples do you want to compare
oranges to?

i know this statement will cause a shitting-fit but geogaddi
wasn't very good, at least not for boc: mhtrtc is like an
audio object that you cant fully penetrate, with warped
voices, atonal drones and stoned ambience running through
the hole album: to me it is one long work like a classical
piece but geo is fragmented, like lots of BOC tribute songs
glued together and stuff like vocoded "1969, in the
sunshine..." are just too cheesy. if an album can top mhtrtc
then i will be impressed? can bola (whose soup album has
been reissued very recently) match it?

get soup and you will be hooked.

oh yeah and whenever i see "geogaddi" i think "geodaddi"
not sure why. i have a hard time even saying the right name
when i want to.

Soup is now being served in Warpmart. Warm your hands around
a Bola Soup.

Nice new artwork

i disagree.
i was just getting baked and listening to geogaddi in my car
and i started tripping. i mean like full-on hallucinating.
great album

geogaddi is very subtle, but open your ears, hear the
sounds, the tempo changes, the nostalgia, the hooks and you
will realise what a fantastic album it is

offline jingle from London (United Kingdom) on 2003-06-20 18:35 [#00749857]

it may be subtle but not compared to "children", which has a
lot more texture and atmosphere: the hooks probably are more
catchy but i thats not really my thing, fair points 303 but
i think children has the edge in most aspects

listening to fyuti now. nice.

about geogaddi, to me it feels like it has a much more
constant and present atmosphere than mhtrtc. on mhtrtc i
feel like a lot of tracks are out of place, like roygbiv,
aquarius and smokes quantity for example. as well as some of
the short tracks. because of this i cant listen to the whole
album in one go.

anyway, geogaddi - fyuti? apples and oranges indeed.

i have jello - voile (its by the same guy i think) and it is
very nice. an amazing album, i especially like that piano
track (i forget what its called) and the one after it. i
haven't heard anything from bola, but im probably gonna buy
either fyuti or soup soon.
