i'm designing an edit suite and wonder if anyone has thoughts on lighting, the rooms a long 25 feet by 9feet 6 inches, its got flouressents in it now. the cielings are low so track lighting is out, suggestions. what do you prefer for long times staring at a computer screen?

Make sure the fluorescents are 60hz or your eyes will get knackered from the "strobing" you get.
Make sure they don't reflect in the screen or if they do, get a iiyama monitor with an antiglare screen. I have one and it works perfectly apart from candles reflect in it.

If you have lights that stream upwards it will elongate the room

yeah, if you have a couple around the top of the wall and let the light point upwards towards the celing it makes the room look taller.
Make sure they're not too close to the celing though, the light needs to kinda climb up the wall.... if you know what I mean

interesting idea, but i'd have to wire through exsisting walls, which would be a pain in the ass
