nah, I just think that after MHTRTC and ABPOITC there were a
lot of rumors about that, and with Geogaddi they just played
with the rumors a bit... I don't believe they are serious
with all this 666, Satanic cult stuff...

yeah...

but i still get this feeling of pure evil when i listen to
geogaddi

the red hexagonal cover... the 666, and all that junk...alls
i can think of is "this is the devils music"

but mhtrtc is more laid back and stuff. there are some
unsettling parts ( like "iiiiiiii looooove youuuuuuuu")

but they keep sucking me in

i listen to all of thier cds at least once a day

they are my favorite IDM

10.

BoC are, in my opinion, making the best music currently
being released and produced. cohesive, emotional,
interesting, subtle, artistic, quality music. every time I
hear a new track I like them more. no exaggeration. I've yet
to be disappointed them (though the very first time I heard
them, I hated them!)

geogaddi is only 66:06 long cause they added magic window at
the end... (a nice feature on the vinyl release... with the
wicked blank picture side... but really kind of frivolous,
albeit not worth criticizing, on the cd release)....

as for the tracks on in a beautiful place out in the
country:
the first one is a damn wicked slow burner... it has this
really epic, post-rock kind of feel, it build really slowly,
but i couldn't imagine making it any shorter... if they
didn't start out as well as this the release wouldn't be
nearly as good...
i'd give it a 9.5
-as for track 2: another nice long and drawn-out one... but
now that i think about it... every track on this ep is slow
and deliberate... very pastoral (as BoC is so often referred
to as), atmospheric stuff... this track is not as good as
the first one but it's still quite beautiful... possibly an
8 or an 8.5...
track 3: i always hear track one and think, "damn this is
one of BoC's best", but by the time i've gotten to the title
track, i can barely remember what has passed before it, as
it's all swept up in the tide of the lovely melody which
haunts this track... what is it about BoC being able to
write four note melodies and keep me hanging on for upwards
of seven minutes?! everything is perfect about this track:
the creepy looping sample of the laughing child, the steady
minimal hip hop beat which flows in and out of the mix, and
the odd vocoder vocals... the track evokes this odd singular
memory, or emotion... like a skipping record player playing
over a single loop while the hero lies shot dead in the
bottom of the screen or something... it's completely whole,
singular, and beautiful... and if you're like me, and allow
all the waco/branch davidian references into the mix (why
not?)... it just really haunts the fuck out of you... isn't
it great when the title track is bang on?! when it sums up
the helix formed by the various sinews of emotion running
through a piece of music?! an easy 10
track 4: why is this here? i can't think of any o

Zoetrope- ***1/2 (a little on the long side, but really
pretty and Final Fantasy-ish)

Overall- ****1/2 - a definite 5 if it was an LP that kept up
this kind of wickedness.

in fact, i can't think of a single song by them that i
dislike.
as for people who say they keep doing the same things with
every release, well, i disagree, but even if that were so,
who cares if its this gorgeous?
