-Drukqs Predictions-

Xanatos from NYC on 2001-07-21 21:46 [#00017002]

Does anyone else have the (bad) feeling that Drukqs is going
to be entirely drilling industrial tuneless garbage and is
going to give all of us who dig his more melodious and
ambient work a big headache?

The Grey Gentleman from Eugene, Oregon on 2001-07-21 22:07 [#00017003]

No, I don't think it will be like Autechre

:-P

Sorry, I just think Autechre is really boring, so I had to.

fleckothegecko from confield on 2001-07-21 23:04 [#00017012]

actually i think if anything itll have both, its supposed to
be all over the place from "extremely cobfrontational" to
"beautiful piano compositions"

|REFLEX| from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2001-07-21 23:09 [#00017018]

I hope its good, I just want to hear it then, I will know.

Matt from Webdan on 2001-07-22 02:34 [#00017042]

I´m a fan of both his ambient works and his
experimental-mental "#)=(¤U#"fex/t[in]: thingies. I just
want the bloody album. That would pretty much clear my
picture. I thougt Tha and Xtal was great, i fucking love
them. But i also listen alot to [equation title] and
bucephalus bouncing ball. I´m kind of curious what he is up
to now. My prediction is, it will be fucking
hilarious/amazing either way.

Cheers.

I hope he has autechre quality sounds as he did on
windowlicker but makes compositions his way, where stuff
changes often, not the same thing that changes slowly like
autechre. And I hope he made some wicked neuron connections
with sound in this one, as he did in the last 3 albums. If
every song is as interesting as the ones on windowlicker,
this may very well take the place of Lp5 as my favorite
album.

Chilled from Buh>? on 2001-07-22 05:35 [#00017057]

If it has one song even remotely like Xtal,it will be my
favorite album...god that song is so fuckin lush....

anywayz,i disliked the hedphuq shit on monkeydrummer...but
who knows?

D-Hex from KC Missouri on 2001-07-22 08:36 [#00017068]

I heard drukqs will be his most commercial album to date, so
no i dont think it will be mindless drilling.

Springymajig from New Zealand (www.mp3.com/aureus) on 2001-07-22 09:02 [#00017069]

I liked the sample of monkey drummer on joyrex. I don't
think I could stand it for more than 3 minutes tops, but it
was still cool.

|REFLEX| from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2001-07-22 09:39 [#00017070]

D-Hex: no, your wrong I believe. in most commercial album
they mean that its the most publicised, or rather most
advertised to the public, thats what they mean.

phunqstorer from bulgaria on 2001-07-22 14:36 [#00017075]

hey! every release of rdj is better of the last one. so,
drukqs will be the best till the next one...

Dirty Priest from Denmark on 2001-07-22 15:33 [#00017082]

That single thingy is just around the corner =O

sorry, but i'm a cunt! on 2001-07-22 18:45 [#00017099]

all of you - shut the fuck up!!

LeMoN on 2001-07-22 19:06 [#00017100]

I think Monkey Drummer is awesome!! just when the clip ends,
it sounds like it is really starting to get interesting...I
like it more than that Remix clip...

Archrival from NYC on 2001-07-22 19:09 [#00017101]

Monkey drummer is much better than that remix track.

I LOVE the drums in monkey drummer!!!

Xanatos from NYC on 2001-07-23 07:09 [#00017212]

How do you guys now its the most commercial, or most
publicized?

m....MwMw wwW(m M m)Www wMwM....m on 2001-07-23 07:11 [#00017213]

Some guy said so in a joyrex article. I disliked the monkey
drummer. I hope drukqs doesn't follow suite.

Xanatos from NYC on 2001-08-01 08:07 [#00019075]

I just wanted to bring this back up to the top of the board
to see if anyone else has any thoughts/feelings on this.

=|R3FL3X|= from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2001-08-01 10:12 [#00019088]

Still think its going to be a new style.

walt from europe on 2001-08-01 10:31 [#00019092]

it will be a great album if every track is as good as any
track from come to daddy and windowlicker (well, the last
track is called nanou 2). but this 'erik satie like piano
pieces' indicates that it will be very different than those
ep.s. i also can't wait to see the cover design of the cd.
ctd and windowlicker's design really was awesome - what i
really like of the windowlicker design is the combination of
a very tasty stylish design and the weird photo on the
cover, the contrast is very funny. for some time there were
photos on the drukqs website - a very conservative
'hausfrau' with the grinning face of richard d. james, could
be that this (or something similar) will be on the cover for
the cd.

rob fragilenine from a warm place on 2001-08-01 16:01 [#00019143]

i hope these 'beautiful piano compositions' are like The
Frail by NIN, I love that piece! I would be disappointed if
the piano pieces are random abstract bashings... but if most
of the songs are like Girl/Boy Song, or Monkey Drummer, or
the 2nd remix I'd definitely buy it.. I need some fast
shit... especially with RDJ's production madness!

=|R3FL3X|= from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2001-08-01 22:07 [#00019193]

See.... you all want it to sound like something youve heard.
I don't. I want it to be totally new.

pauwl from the dark on 2001-08-01 22:09 [#00019197]

its gonna be a nice lovely mix of good niceness, richard
told me last night in a dream, dont worry chickens, you''ll
all love it.

ross on 2001-08-01 22:12 [#00019200]

can you get monkey drummer on warprecords.com?

=|R3FL3X|= from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2001-08-01 22:15 [#00019204]

Ross; buy it? If you want to hear some go to JoyRex
And get some samples I believe.

ross on 2001-08-01 22:52 [#00019220]

thanks reflex, yeah i just want to hear a sample..

Bogus on 2001-08-02 05:38 [#00019241]

lets see.. richard has already mastered the atmospheric part
of music.. let call that harmony. He's also exceled with
beats.. rythm. But's he hasn't done anything truly admirable
with melody. so maybe that's what drukqs'll be filled with:
complex melodies.

or maybe not .. who cares

LeMoN on 2001-08-02 05:50 [#00019243]

nothing done anything with melodies?!?! wtf!! some of the
most arresting melodies i have ever heard have had their
origin from songs written by RDJ, i dont understand how u
came to that conclusion...btw, i believe he has stated his
new album is going to be more beat driven then ever, which
is perfectly okay with me, the RDJ album is my favorite
album of all time...

Arch Rival from NY on 2001-08-02 06:40 [#00019246]

RDJ album is DOPE!!!!!!!!!!

I hope his new album will sound like a updated version of
that.

pokeas on 2001-08-02 10:54 [#00019299]

It will be good. It will soud like little elfs.

Pokeas your future music.

Lord Of The Beats from Norden on 2001-08-02 11:02 [#00019302]

I hope it wll sound like "monkey drummer". I love that
track, I actually think that "monkey drummer" is a track
from Drukqs (the track real name isnt "monkey drummer" thats
just the name of the movie, maybe the track has a another
name.

I mean AFX used "Hankie" in that FLEX movie by Chris
Cunningham so why cant he use that new beat in drukqs.

He has recycled before :)

What yall think?

Lord Of The Beats from Norden on 2001-08-02 11:03 [#00019303]

I think its a track from Drukqs.

"For me I was dissappointed at first, but now, hundreds of

I have to agree with that 100%. In fact, I'm beyond
satisfied, its got some wicked tracks, Vordhosbn, 54 Cymru,
Cock/Ver10, Meltphace, Afx v237, basically I'm only
dissapointed in that it could have easily been one CD and
left out all the garbage. Beskhu3epnm is the only decent
piano track imo, all the little skits and jokes are a waste
of my time.

Avril 14th is nice, if I had to condense DrukQs to one 15
track CD (which I think it should have been), I would
include Avril 14th.

It gets pretty at around 1:25, but other than that its just
a cute little song, if it wasn't made by RDJ I don't think
everyone would fawn over it as much...who knows. Maybe
because I am around a lot of good classical piano music at
my home, hearing somewhat mediocre playing in electronic
music doesn't do it for me...
