peel sessions have been around for a real long time. i don't
know if anyone else knows this:

John Peel is a producer, who works for BBC radio, and a shit
load of people go and record with him. Aphex, BoC, Ae,
Nirvana, Sex Pistols, Radiohead. not all of them are
released how ever. so yeah. i don't know who the original
group to record with him was.

the aphex peel sessions are listed under explore at this
site.

the only other group i know of to do the sessions with john
peel (besides the ones mentioned above) is the cure.

Pumpkins did some too, though they are hard to find, even in
this internet age.

I think anyway

of the ones ive heard...i really like ae's 2nd and plaid's
i like that untitled aphex track with the whistling from his
95 one too...although half way through it gets all out of
sync..and doesnt sound as good as it does in the first
part...i wonder if he did that on purpose..or just fucked it
up by accident...he never did release it...

john peel has a thrice-weekly show on radio one
10pm-midnight (tues-thurs).
he has a group that does a session (three/four songs) every
show. most of the groups are usually lesser known guitar
bands...many of them are cool.

i have both autechre sets...and i love both. milk DX, gelk
and blifil are my faves. the '95 aphex session is good, and
i'm in the process of getting the '92.

i think this here is a list of every peel session ever
done:
