where will everyone go now that audiogalaxy is more or less
gone??? ..would be nice if all audiogalaxy users went on to
the same, another file sharing program. or something. :)

ive noticed soulseek has been getting flooded with
non-electronic music fans...which isnt good...
not in an elitist sort of way...but if tons of people get on
soulseek to trade pop music..well then we can expect it to
go the way of napster and audiogalaxy within a few months

Apparently Filetopia is gonna be good. But they aren't
doing too well with their new file sharing program thing :)

i'll never be able to find the ultra, ultra rare tracks i
was looking for (i use the Sample FAQ to find out what songs
hip-hop producers sampled to make my favorite songs) but
i've been able to find more stuff on soulseek lately than i
used to. i might check out blubster in a month after it's
grown some more, maybe it'll have some of what i'm looking
for.

funkmaster, what you don;t think about is that a lot of
people who download things do so either becasue the music is
deleted and completely unavailable as is the case for a lot
of rdj's music. Further to that, it seems like a waste of
money to go out and buy music for every band who seems like
they might be ok. I have wasted a lot of money this way
before. With file sharing i can download mp3s and listen to
the music and then decide to go out and buy the album if i
like what i hear. I have just done this for the new
nickleback album which i was unsure about to start with. Had
I not been able to sample it in mp3 form then i may have
decided not to bother.

Also, about file sharing. Has anybody else tried Kazaa media
desktop, easily available form cnet downloads, I have beeen
using this for quite sometime now and found it to be a very
reliable package.

i download very few full albums, i usually just download one
track by an artist (as i said, i use the Samples FAQ to hear
the old 60s/70s/80s song sampled in hip-hop tracks, or i
check out an artist one song at a time). hardly a reason to
go out and buy the whole album before hearing it. when i get
into an artist/album i'll buy it tho. i've even bought
albums based on hearing just one or two songs, and in a few
occasions (Low, Can, Charles Mingus) no songs.
