confield is only 9 tracks long....a newbie to ae would
rather buy something with more tracks like tri repeatae++ if
its teh same price....
im not sure what my point is, im just talking about confield
some more.

I dunno, as i said before, I find confield to be "endless"
in a way. It's so packed with detail that it's really worth
every penny IMO. Then again, I have it on CD-R so, what the
fuck am I talking about.

i don't think anyone will 'get into' confield in say...4
months! im just starting to hear new stuff and ive had it
for over a year! this is stuff that you need to give AT
LEAST a years worth

thats not meaning ive never liked it...what im saying is
that within a year you'll keep hearing new sounds and seeing
different perspectives on it. after a year im still seeing
different things. its a cd you have to give time.

i loved confield since the first second

Confield is abstract!!!! you have to think abstract to
enjoy it! its not normal for normal thinking! its avant
garde.

Confield contains things that language can't express. i see
microbiotics being hypnotized by bells from time and space
that collapse and shift and swirl about in a state of stasis
(like a humming bird) with the track bine...it goes on to
crystaline forests of Uviol and on to the unfolding of space
time with Lentic and the chaos of the particles of the sun
expand and contract and explode.

i wouldnt say it was abstract....the instruments may be
avant garde but their all just a tune that progresses

i never, NEVER, understood the hyper-avant garde of
confield...
don't bash me for not understanding it, plz, it's just that
i see it as abstract as you, as full of details and as
cutting edge too, but man... WHAT THE HELL IS SO INNOVATIVE,
the first time i heard it i though : ambient music with a
BIG digital feel, really mastered by two masterss of the
style, but i would like to know what everybody think is so
"avant-garde" in confield, appart from the
abstract-randomness...

and i have it from its release, listening to it one time,
thought it was a bit too much, taking it 2 months later and
beggining to liking it more and more
(like nearly everyone here...)
i really love it, i prefer amber and tri rep, but that just
taste

avantgarde is an overused term anyway. Tell me how you
define it and I'll tell you how I define it...

Digital: this is how you think abstract

- sit down comphy

- listen to the sounds...invison what they are could be.
think about things.

- keep thinking. think more and more and think weird
things.

once this happens you should click into seeing things.

E-man: confield is 'avant garde' cause it is FAR from the
norm. its sound in its purest form. it breaks boundries
with its concepts. its too deep.

some review:

This isn't electronica or armchair techno or IDM. This is
the music of empty rooms, the same type of feeling I get
from listening to John Cage's prepared piano music. One more
thing while I eat bandwidth. This record SOUNDS great. Every
sound is meticulously placed in the mix. When I first
listened to "Vi Scose Poise," I thought my air-conditioner
was malfunctioning, but it's actually a drone placed somehow
in the mix that it sounds as if it's coming from another
room. In terms of engineering alone, this record seriously
raises the bar. It sounds, well...tactile. This is a thorny
record, but it's worth hearing. It's certainly not something
I want to listen to every day, but sometimes, it's something
I need to listen to.

i really need to listen to it all the fucking time

Confield = Ae masterpiece

This album is so beautifully constructed. It has taken me 4
- 5 months for me to fully appreciate it. I truly believe
that Autechre are pushing the music to that next level while
all their contemporaries are lagging behind.

I read a review that said something to the effect that "this
is a decaying album" in the sense that every song is
self-destructing right before your ears. The tension
holding the songs together drives you along.

Autechre have replaced RDJ as my favourite.

i dont uderstand how some of you 'got' confield on the first
listen.. ive been listening to all of ae's releases for at
least 2 years constantly before i bought confield, and it
didnt prepare me at all for what it had in store for my
cortex...

i really hated it on first listen, it really disappointed
me. not now, though, oh man!
