BILLBOARD: BASHING

for some reason, i really felt like downloading some
regular/commercial rock and hip-hop songs, so i decided to
try consulting the billboard top 200 chart for some
inspiration.

i mean, i knew that the billboard was far from being the
best place to look for good music, but it was way
more full of crap than i expected. commercial music is at
its worst right now imo...

i stopped checking at 100, and then threw up. 3-4 times.

every once in a while I go to billboard.com just to see what
crap people listen to and whats selling and it truly is sad.
you see dj shadow's private press on the top 200 for about
2 week and then its gone completely off the list. and the
thing is, this albums is probably done selling majorly. all
the people who have bought it already are the only people
that will be buying it, granted a few people still have to
get it but good albums often do not make a dent in the
charts at all. I look through all 200 on there and 99.9% is
crap. and when you click on independent or electronic, most
of its not even independent or electronic at all. I 've
seen britney spears under independent. mainstream music is
at an alltime low.

If you want quick access to ridiculously crappy music, just
turn the radio on.

actually, don't count shadow out, MCA is going to push his
album big time and he has a music video coming out next
directed by a big time hong kong movie director and starring
an actor from crouching tiger, hidden dragon. the song is "6
days" which a lot of people believe could be very big for
shadow.

I mean, shadow could become a little more well known but I
just can't see this happening. I could be wrong of course
but it just doesn;t seem like it will happen.

I don't even like that song too much either, I dont know why
they chose that one in the first place. the singer sounds
like all the crap house singers. i just dont like the
singing style but its an alright song.

Dirty Vegas is the number one selling "electronic" album.
Bullshit, Dirty Vegas is pop right down to the last note.
And then at #2 we have Moby's 18. Still not electronic
music. At #3 we have something worthy of being an electronic
album, DJ Shadow's Private press, I say fuck the first 2,
lets ditch em and bump everything up to spots.

Sorry but as for me, I just trust my taste in music and not
the corporate-shit mag,known as Billboard,if I do will
probabbly puke all day long,so,to avoid getting
sick,nope...Any artist or fan should always trust their real
taste and not someone who wants you to spend your money on a
new Producer-made artists......got it!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not totally against Billboard, cause I think there is
some good music that does sell... however, the majority of
it is crap... I still flick on the radio when I'm driving
sometimes to see what's on, and sometimes they do play good
songs (imo)... but yeah, the majority of it sucks!!!

but it flopped.

I don't know of any "standalone" Internet radios that you
can buy now.
