HipHop is great. Rap is dreadful, and it's a shame that the two are so closely associated. Don't get me wrong, when rapping is part of a hiphop track it's OK, like all the early eighties breakdance/electro stuff... but all this "I is the daddy, I'm gonna fuck yo mammma" is utter fucking shite. (i.e. the stuff Aphex was taking the piss out of in Windowlicker) |

I'm not a big fan, but some of it is alright... I like hip-hop beats, and some non-rapping hip-hop like DJ Shadow is good, but the rap style hip-hop, most of that I don't like... |
