not to rain on your parade... but im not so sure about
that...

its soooo squarepusher.

i saw someone else do the same thing, and i was veru
unimpressed, cause its like he was trying to be
squarepusher.

you gotta find your thing

i play bass, but i wouldnt just play bass along with my pc,
cause its too squarepushery.

but hey, its up to you, and best of luck

who gives a shit, do what you think you need to do, ofcourse
the majority of this messageboard that makes music is a
aphex twin/autechre/squarepusher/bogdan clone or wannabe.
Junktion isnt, so he should do what he wants, he can do
anything with it, any direction.

i guess the pc will just be playing pre-recorded loops, you
won't actually be tweaking anything live? i only ask cos
it'd be very hard to really play bass live while doing that,
tho squarepusher used to play bass live while tweaking his
drum machine (see 'feed me weird things' back cover)

it'l just be prerecorded loops but with tricky variations.
Yes I'm thinking kinda Squarepush'ish in some way but not
ripoff or copy. He's a good idol though.
I will mainly play on my fretless bass and I thought of
using others nostalgic things to play on too...

REFLEX: thanks for the support man... ;)

I've come up with some cool ideas for the set....any ideas
on that subject?

Hell I think it's fucking cool that you're going to play out
with your bass. It's a hell of a lot better than watching
some mother fucker sit behind a laptop for 45 minutes.

sounds good to me man, who cares if squarepusher uses a
bass, everyone and their dead nannies use laptops. Just be
super into it and your audience will catch your enthusiasm
and get into it too (yeah!)

when i play live i use my computer that i am using right now
as we speak... it's a big honking PC console :) it's big &
the ladies are like "is that how big your 'other' things
are?" and i am like "here are my house keys, come over if
you'd like" and then they hear my music and they're all like
"umm... maybe not! YOU SUCK!"

:(

ho humm

for the record, squarepusher isn't the only musician who
would sync live bass to electronic equipment - dj spooky's
been doing it for many years as well.

least your not doing s club 7 or something,& it takes some
bravery to do it,so go ahead.

of course []P isnt the only one who uses a bass... but he
kind of is known for it.

and this is an IDM MB, so when you say " a bass and a
computor" youd think of the influences... []P

so, if you want to do it, and if you are doing your own
thing... thens thats cool.

but as long as you arnt trying to be like squarepusher

thats all i was saying

feisty bunch here... calm down!

I would really have to hear junktion`s music before i could
give an opinion, but i get your point, whats the point if its
already done,

yeah...

not totally... people can expand on ideas... but when it
comes to being so very similiar, then its like a copy.
Electronic music is an evolving genre... making new sounds
is the whole idea... pushing the limits..

good luck with performing!

playing live is fun.

especially when you laugh at the girls walking out of the
club after about 5 minutes of your performance :)
