Nova Scotia has Halifax, Sloan and Al MacInnis! What does Newfoundland have?
St. John's (what kind of idjit would put an apostrophe in there, that just looks dumb!), Great Big Sea, and Darren Langdon.
Beyotch.

Ignorance!!!!
They're the best guitar pop band around! Listen to ''One Chord to Another'' and ''Twice Removed'' if you don't believe me!
And if even then you're not convinced... then... uh...

i have "one chord to another".... *shudder*
i cant believe i won it.... but it was a different world back then
i was young and niave..... and thought SHIT was good.....
you HAVE to admit...... for SO many of their songs... half way through, u could go right into a beatles song w/ no hiccup...
of course, it would get a lot better at that point

Well, yeah, they ARE a bit Beatlesy... not that I mind! And of course they don't measure up, nobody does. I like them though. If you don't, well, I hope you never heal from my swift kick to your nuts.
And Twice Removed is better than OCTAnother, I might add.

Gah! They're not that bad, you silly butt mutant!
I bought my Sloan stuff back in the day, too, but I still like them! Just nice power pop, no catering to the angsty little jerks or anyone else, just niiiiice power pop.
I know what you mean about ''old shitty rock CDs''... I've got my share. Green Day, Moist, Our Lady Peace, 54-40, Cranberries...
But Sloan isn't as fake as all them, they're above it. They're good, and are respected pioneers in the post grunge era. Their early stuff is classic guitar rock, and critically praised. So put that in your pipe and smoke it, bucko!!!

Well, Americans just have a reputation as being arrogant and ignorant to the rest of the world... not saying that is you, but that's the reputation I guess...
