for those who live in the states (not sure if it's on in
other countries), have u heard the one that goes:

"Your friends are out there having fun. But you're here,
grounded, because you smoke weed and your parents found out.
Lose your parents trust and you can kiss your social life
goodbye."

I'm curious, What do you all think of this commercial?

i think that if you're stupid enough to get caught, you
deserve getting grounded.

i was afraid this was another post about

yea no kidding. heh.
i'm pleased every time i hear this thing on the tv and
radio. It makes me glad that these idiots who create this
are exposing themselves as generalizing morons actually less
smart than the kids they're trying to talk down to. They're
defeating their own purpose, blowing the whistle on the fact
that it's bullshit. I LOVE this commercial.

Like all parents ground over doing drugs.

I hate that commercial, the drugs support terrorism one and
the anti smoking "truth" commercials. They're all fucking
nazi.

I asked about that commercial months ago...

I do get a kick out of the Truth commericals (the
anti-smoking ones)

I don't smoke cigarettes but if people want to, I don't
fucking care. I don't see why people (Truth people, etc.)
care so much. Everyone knows that smoking is dangerous but
some choose to smoke anyway. Fine.

That was regarding the topic that emerged in conversation..
I don't really have an opinion about this commercial. The
government can't stop kids from doing drugs..

know what pisses me off?

the fact that we get these commericals about drug money
supporting terrorism.

i mean, why doesnt the government just fucking legalise it.

1. the money wont go to terrorists
2. the government can control it
3. once its legal, its not as cool (people like to do
illegal stuff)
4. and the can put a big tax on it and make money to fight
terror

i dont do drugs

but fuck those commericals piss me off, they are playing
with our emotions after september 11th. exploiting the
deaths of the people on 9 11.

god damn

i totally agree, i think that's the logical realization for
any intelligent person who sees the new "drug money"
commercials. pretty obvious.

btw, seeing as how you live in the US, ever seen or heard
public service announcements "brought to you by the ad
council"? ever notice how NONE of those PSAs ever criticize
corporations, instead placing the blame of environmental
deterioration solely on the citizen whereas companies are
far more substantial polluters? this is because the ad
council is 100% corporate funded and even tho they're
supposedly in the public's interest, they never place the
rightful blame on themselves. kinda like the government and
the "drug money" ads.
