drums too dominant?

It seems as if most electronic music today relies very
heavily on the drums. While I have nothing against tracks
where the drums are dominant, it seems as if all of them
rely on loud drums unless it's ambient...

Do you know any "normal" new electronic music without
dominant drums?

Some Mu-Ziq stuff really suffers from TOO MANY BEATS, I
think... especially on Lunatic Harness. They obscure the
great melodies... especially on Midwinter Log, pretty things
like that.

drum tracks are more shamanic , they get the adrenalin
going
but I prefer the soothing melodic stuff, global goon is good
for that

"drums are evil!!!!!!!!!"

well, no, they're not..... but they should be outlawed on
college campuses. the white upper class has no sense of
rhythm!!!!

most "popular" electronic music has it's roots in dance
music so rhythm/drums are always gonna be at the
forefront...

i think drukQs has too often too much drum-machinery to my
taste, otherwise it doesn't bother me...

try ambient stuff maybe? : )

I remember reading an interview with Napalm Death and the
guy asked them why the drums were so loud. They said "well,
it's the most important part of the music"
