an axolotl isn't a mexican salamander per se, but the name
is. also, salamanders aren't lizards, they're amphibians. an
axolotl is an undeveloped salamander that remains that way
for it's entire life, meaning it'll always have gills and an
undeveloped pinkish whiteish looking skin.
