Question: Has anyone seen Aphex Twin DJ? Like recently like
at the Rephlex party a while back woth Global Goon and all

like to know what to expect.

I saw him DJ in Newcastle last August.

I'm afraid I can't remember all that much about it though
because I'd had a lot to drink. I do remember the last
track he played: the old-skool classic "Sweet Harmony".

I seem to remember him playing stuff off his laptop as well
as records.

I also got to shake his hand.

Is there a good chance i could meet him do you reckon...or
any of the people who are playing?

I don't know.....

It was weird - I almost managed to talk my way into going
backstage to meet him by talking to one of the promoters
while I was drunk. The only reason he almost let me was
because he thought I was someone else (apparently I look a
lot like one of the roadies or something). When he
eventually realised that I was just a pissed fan, he looked
quite embarrassed and then naffed off.

I just shook AFX's hand while he was playing. I shambled
over to the DJ booth like a pissed oaf and stuck my hand
out. To my surprise, he obliged.....he probably thought I
was a drunken twat though.

A friend of mine reckons one of his mates ended up at a
party afterwards in Newcastle that AFX also went to, and
apparently he was being a right wanker, throwing stuff
around this person's house and being a cunt. So they
through him out.

I just went home afterwards cos I was f'ed.

Well, yes, Aphex. Apparently he was looking for a phone
number in the telephone directory at this guy's house, but
couldn't find the number, so he got really angry and started
throwing stuff around. Basically, through a tantrum.

It might not actually have happened though. It's quite
possibly just gossip.

Oh yes, if i saw old Dick James coming out of the club tierd
and in need of a beverage, i would kindly invite him back to
my house for a light refreshment.

BUT...

If he started to rummage through my yellow pages for an
unlisted number, and throw it across the room in a childish
temper.

I would say, OI APHEX NOOOOO

I admire your skill to manipulate and distort a funky drum
beat until it sounds like someone with a puematic drill is
trying to write his name in concrete with the damn thing,
put i do NOT admire ure temper of a three year old, NOW GO
IN YOUR COT FOR A 5 MINUTE TIME OUT

Ahh the Harry Enfield technique :)

My mate bought him a whisky!!!!! Wey hey. Apparently he
politely accepeted it and no more was said. It was a few
years ago so perhaps he was chuffed someone regognised him.

this soundclash thing with LV comes from that gig in hackney
last year. the two were billed as djing but they played
together for most of the night......luke played records
handed to him by RDJ and then that k-rock chap started
mcing.........the vocals were then fucked around with live
by RDJ..........so ....
EXPECT SOME AMAZING SOUNDS cos that was a well hard, fast
and furious, taken-to-the-apex gig!!!!!!!!
