guys, Indian music is fabulous... come on, just listen to
Ravi Shankar... I love African music as well, and even
celtic music has it's good points... Newfoundland is the
worst for music... just imagine this, a band that does pop
celtic music which is always on the radio here!!! Their name
is Great Big See, and they suck so much ass!!! It's freaking
sick!!!

I'm with nacmat, IMO any country that is creating original
music has a right to that music, and judging it with any
other country is wrong, because they have different cultures
and conceptions of music.

japan is full of crap music ,
teens artist earn big money for making
shit music. it is threat.
on this point your thinking maybe right.

but underground artist in japan play an
active in Europe or underground.
they are the Savior for me.

Are anoter country same situation for that??

germany? most of the world's best music originates from
germany or neigboring countires/regions that are practiclly
germany in the first place. this holds true pretty much
through out all time. Infact i know of many artists that are
leaving germany to live in america because of the huge
competition, and over crowded music. germany is probably the
best country for music.

worst country for music...i'd have to say japan because it's
a bit unfair to include 3rd world countries, or any other
non- industrialized nation. Despite it's small size, japan
is pretty powerful, and sadly they have over populated the
shittynees side of the musical spectrum...i mean
ewwwww....jpop.

which brings me to my master plan...after my basic training
in the AF, i'm going to (hopefully) be stationed in japan,
where i will start new trends, and musical scenes...playing
on their overwhelming need for something diffrent, cheap
electronics (gear), and unconditional (and very wierd) love
for americans, and wanting to be americans.

No, Japan has a wonderful musical history before it adopted
a shitty American style of pop and altered it a bit (I can
say that because im american =p). Have you ever heard any
renditions of ancient japanese strings songs? they are
abso-fuggin-lutely beautiful.

offline Zephyr Twin from ΔΔΔ on 2002-06-18 04:56 [#00272008]

And on that note, I would say that the worst music country
in the world would be one that allows no music at all, such
as taliban-afghanistan.

i'm not exactly sure what instruments are TRUELY japanese
that involve strings...most all string instruments in
eastern cultures are western or indian (which are still
pretty much european)dirivitives.

i know of a few wind instruments from japan, but they are
still uncanny in their simularites to western instruments.

offline Zephyr Twin from ΔΔΔ on 2002-06-18 05:05 [#00272012]

yeah, i realized that afterwords, that they are mainly
middle eastern strings, but how they are utilized by the
japanese is what distinguishes them IMO...

i totally agree with you.
crap music i mean that you also know
"J-POP".
recently japanese music scene is overwhelmed by J-POP..
Americazation infect japanese music scene. not only music
also culture.
i would't say that Americazation is bad
issues. it good influence me.
but i worried about ancient cluture as you mentioned.

Whoever said Sweden is obviously not a metal fan. Some
brilliant thrash has come from that country. It's one of
the best countries for metal.

My Polish friend showed me some Polish rap. It was pretty
hot.

I'd rather listen to J-Pop than most American pop.

I live far away from Spain. I'm sure the place is great! I'm
referring to an oversaturation of Ibiza Mix CDs that have
washed up, and play non-stop, at our vaccuos North American
Clothing Outlets. Nothing personal, 'mat. Correct me if the
music there is better than Fatboy Slim.

you are right Ibiza mix are shitty and crap

but that cds are not of spanish music... thats just dance
music by any unknown dj... totally impersonal...nothing to
do with music in spain

anyway I dont think spain is a great country for music...we
have never been...since the classical music... we never had
important composers... and now... not even one decent pop
group... wont even talk about electronica...

anyway check some flamenco...its awesome
