Does anyone know of any possible techniques that can be used to alter the "speed" of time. Is it possible to train your brain to slow time during periods of enjoyment and increase the speed of time during periods that are not being enjoyed.
I do not want to use drugs for the above, I have contemplated removing my watch therefore I will not know what time has passed.
If you close your eyes does time take a shorter period to pass.
Can anyone suggest any experts who talk about the speed of time and humans perception to the speed of time.
I have not yet experimented with ket, does this alter the part of the brain that allows us to perceve time. Before we die why not remove this part of the brain, then we will think that we are living for ever.

in my experience, a high degree of concentration slows the speed of time, in that you are totally focused on the task at hand.
the bodies perception of time slows, yet what is actually happening is that the proficieency with which on eapproaches the subject matter actually increases drastically.
this is a state of zen. you should read up on zen and achieving these states. i don't carry me books on me though and have a horrible memory for names.

in a word or two it is becoming still. mentally, physically and spiritually. in this state you receive. it's hard to explain, and much better to appreciate/understand when you have axperienced it.
a true state of zen is never returned from, as far as i can understand.
it's very interesting, and i cannot really do it much justice, as it has only been during the last year that i have really taken a sound interest in it.
alan watts wrote a book 'the way of zen' which i enjoyed. also, a much more enjoyable book that relates to the subject, although it is a bit more philisophical is 'zen and the art of motorcycle maintenace' by robert persig.
i highly recomend the latter, though it does not relate directly to your query.
the force is losely based off of zen [star wars] and jedi's can tap into that energy through a state of relaxation.

Read "Ada or Ardor" by Vladimir Nabokov.
Aside from Being a very good novel, it discusses some interesting ideas, such as space only exists in order to measure time. Without space (movement/atomic decay) time would cease...
I've been meaning to finish reading zen & the art of motorcylce maintenance...

you totally should, but i suggest not reading it and kind of reflecting after every page or so adn then read it again with a new understanding.
he kind of suggests that is what should be done [remember what he does with his son? we are kind of his 'son's' imo]
teh bok you mentioned sounds liek an extension of ......fahk....brain is melting.....oh yeah, empirical reasoning.
i am about to pick up kant's 'critique of pure reason' i believe it will be quite interesting! do you recomend 'ada or ardor'? if it is quite good i will pick it up too!

I recommend weed, because it is not a drug, it is a plant that grows with us on our very planet.
It does exactly what you are trying to do: alters time.
Sorry but I had to bring this up.
