it's one of those movies where you're like OH SNAP at the
end and you don't want to move.

Yeah, it's great. Definitely on my list of favorites. I love
all the songs they use in it too..

Tears For Fears - Head Over Heels
The Church - Under The Milky Way
Echo and The Bunnymen - The Killing Moon
Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart
Gary Jules - Mad World (tears for fears cover)

I typed out some of my favorite, non spoiler, quotes from
the movie for another board. I'll go ahead and paste here..

elizabeth: "okay. you wanna tell mom and dad why you stopped
taking your medication?"

donnie: "you're such a fuck ass."

elizabeth: "what? [laughing] did you just call me a 'fuck
ass'? You can go suck a fuck!"

donnie: "oh please tell me elizabeth, how exactly does one
'suck a fuck'?"

elizabeth: [laughing] "you want me to tell you?"

donnie: "please, tell me."
- - - - -

ronald: "hey cherita, want a cigarette?"

cherita: "chut up!"

ronald: [mocking] "shuut uup.."

sean: "go back to china, bitch."

donnie: "you just leave her alone."

ronald: "some good shit, huh?"

donnie: "it's a fuckin cigarette."
- - - - -

"the boys locker room is flooded and they found feces
everywhere!"

"what are feces?"

"baby mice."

"awww!"
- - - - -

donnie: "so, why'd you move here?"

gretchen: "my parents got a divorce. my mom had to get a
restraining order against my stepdad. he has emotional
problems."

donnie: "oh i have those too! what kind of emotional
problems does your dad have?"

gretchen: "he stabbed my mom four times in the chest."

donnie: "oh.."
- - - - -

gretchen: "donnie darko? what the hell kinda name is that?
it's like some sort of superhero or something."

donnie: "what makes you think i'm not?"
- - - - -

dr. thurman "Do you still think about girls a lot?"

donnie: [hypnotised] "yeah."

dr. thurman: "how are things going at school?"

donnie: "I think about girls a lot"

dr. thurman: "I asked you about school, donnie."

donnie: "i think about fucking a lot during

My other post got cut off, here's the rest..

donnie: "i think about fucking a lot during school."

dr. thurman: "what else do you think about during school?"

donnie: "married with children"

dr. thurman: "you think about your family?"

donnie: "i just turn down the volume and think about fucking
christina applegate.."

dr. thurman: "I asked you about your family, donnie."

donnie: "noooo [laughs].. i don't think about fucking my
family. that's gross.." [starts to slide hand down pants]
- - - - -

ronald: "beer and pussy, that's all I need."
- - - - -

donnie: "what's the point of living.. if you don't have a
dick?"
- - - - -

principal: "donald, let me preface this by saying your iowa
test scores are... intimidating. so... let's go over this
again.. what exactly did you say to ms. farmer?"

ms. farmer: "i'll tell you what he said! he asked me to
forceably insert the lifeline exercise card into my anus!"
- - - - -

ms. farmer: "okay. now girls, i want you to concentrate.
failure is not an option. and bethany, if you feel the need
to vomit up there.. just swallow it."
- - - - -

donnie: "how does it feel to have a wacko for a son?"

mrs. darko: "it feels wonderful"

was awesome...i love really surreal movies like that..
my friends and i plan on renting every movie from the

summer..
a couple weeks ago we saw eraserhead...which is by far the
most bizarre movie ive ever seen (donnie darko is right up
there though)

Warp. Why?

Come on! Some of you have some info on this! The sticker
says; "28 days, 06 hours, 42 minutes, 12 seconds, That is
when the world will end. -Donnie Darko" I realise it's a
movie, but why a sticker with Warp?

Is Donnie Darko really good? If it is, I'll wait till DVD
and then watch it in my room, alone in the dark with the
phone unplugged. That's the best way to watch films unless
they're special fx extravaganzas....

I have a multi region player and have the dvd. I still
haven't watched the extras. In fact, I don't think I've
watched the dvd at all, I watched the film on a div x rip

It's a good film but the press in the UK have gone far too
mad over it, it's very overrated

had noone to talk to about it until over a year later when
it suddenly became a cult classic.

It's a brillian movie. I've seen it twice at the cinema.
It's been running for 14 weeks and the cinema was packed the
second time I saw it. Not the first time though cause not
many people knew about it then, there was only about 5 other
people in the cinema.

Oh yes, plenty of them. Your best bet would be to look in
the back of a specialist dvd magazine, one which contains
reviews on models. We have loads of those here in the UK....
but why would you want an uncrackable dvd player?

just crack a dvd player-apparently there are such players
that cant be cracked, i just didnt know that hehe

I really liked Donny Darko. However, I think it could have
been better. They were on the right track - time
travel/being mental- but they didn't make the most of it.
Jake Gyllenhaal is way attractive in it, too!! (anybody know
where can I find a guy like that?)

2 DD facts:
-his sister in the film is actually his real-life sisiter
-originally they wanted him to say he would fantasize about
Alyssa Milano (who I find far more attractive than Christina
Applegate), but the "Who's the Boss" ppl didn't allow it.

I was totally unimpressed by Donnie Darko, somehow it all
left me completely cold. Maybe ppl had been raving about it
too much on the net, causing my expectations to rise about
this mediocre movie, I guess I'll never know. In the end I
thought it was "so so" at best.

Donnie Darko rules.
I can't believe how good this movie is, being lowbudget and
everything.
It's extremely good and has great atmosphere, you can watch
it several times, and it doesn't get boring.
A friend of mine's all-time-favourite movie.
Haven't met anybody who didn't like it a lot. It's a

I give it 5 keys out of 5! =)
