Hey zeus, I read some of the "beavis and butthead's
ensucklopedia" and there was this picture of you, zeus, up
on a cloud and I think it was beavis that pulled your finger
and you farted lightening, it was mad funny. I'm looking
forward to a track by the king god of polytheism, how do you
feel about being labeled as mythology? Greek mythology they
call it? That's discrimination, it the mortal people trying
to reduce your class to something lower so that they can
relatively be higher, the bastards. How's hercules.. and
your many many wives? Can you send me a sea nymph?

dows it take for you to actually like what you wrote?

just an idea.

more like a feeling then an actual musical idea. then i just
write until i hear what im feeling

well, the song i just wrote... i began last night.... worked
on it for about 2 hours.

went to bed, and realized this morning i wasnt happy with
many parts... so i changed alot until i was happy.

worked for about 3 hours on it today

you know when it works... it just clicks

I'm all seeing and all knowing so I saw you shake your fist
at me. Zeus has to use a computer and music software, how
pathetic. I can just go "let there be music"... "let it not
suck". And it will like totally kick ass. huh huh, huh

The title of your song will be:
"Zeus sings a lullaby to his polydactyl weiners"
I just know, won't it??

it only took you 5 hours to do a track?
holy shit!
my stuff takes me weeks!
and i don't mean, an hour here and hour there,
i mean pretty much weeks!
i swear that for afx's silly songs it must take him months
to do all the drum programming!
i spent three days solid [ 9 hours of sleep total] on my
craziest drum programmed song, and that was just the one
drum track!
programming takes forever!
if you are jsut using loops, i would suggest investingin a
copy of recycle.
it allows you to keep the sounds of the loop, but you can
then manipulate the pattern and create something absolutely
unique!
just think about sending your material to a record company
and you are only using patterns that everyone else has
access to.
the A+R guy is gonna get 30 sec in and chuck it back inthe
box, cuz he's heard it all before.

Zeus! sorry for the tone of my voice!
But i'm getin sick with some persons
who tried to mess with (things) that
they have no idea about!!
As i can see you're not one of them!
Sorry again!

By the way!
Mythology (mythologia in greek)
Is not a fairy tale, but the encoded truth
about humanity! and not only!
this sounds a bit crazy but trust me!
i know what i'm talking about
Christians knew that to! Thats why they
are still trying to destroy Hellinism!
Anyway! who cares!(i do) some day...

no, i dont use any loops at all.

i am currently writting on Reason, and it do all my own
programming, and effects.

when i write, i get highly involved, and i just know what i
want to do. it kind of flows.

given i dont do drum n bass style drums.. there is alot of
other details... but i dont.

im a fast worker.

dunno

at the height of creativity, I can work for about 12 hours
straight on a song. It's not sloppy, it's not loop based,
it just flows out of me pretty easily, even when it's drill
and bass at 180 BPM.

it's been a long-ass time since i've done it, but whenever i
did, i used CoolEdit 1.53 (sound editor). it was a very long
and tiring process using that program :þ

pachi: ouch!
i could imagine that that would be horrible!
i only use thatprogram to bring in samples off of exterrnal
devices, like my micro recorder or minidisk.

illfates: i'll check yr shtuff out!
thanks fr posting!

zeus: if you are using reason, then that program has a rex
machine that allows you to use loops from recycle!
not that you'd need to use oit or anything, but reason is an
extremely versatile and well rounded program [imo]

whenever i'm working on music, i'm nearly always in zone.
i can, and have worked numerous times, for a whole day w/o
stopping [food and the calling of nature excluded] and the
music is always flowing, but i do program some really dumb
and intricate drums.
my own fault.
it's the final mastering that also takes up a lot of time!
what programs do you guys use for that?
or do you have the all mighty external equipment and run pro
tools!!!!!
he he he
but seriously?

well. ok. but i just dont like loops.
dunno.

as far as drum sounds, ill just use sounds from the sound
bank (not kits... i mix and match) and do alot of effects

i dunno

i never spent over 6 hours total on a song
