24 hours elapse in a static position. for example midnight
takes 24 hours to travel round the world, and it takes
another 24 for the others to go round too.

a day is one complete revolution of the earth, which takes
24 hours. The earth turns completely around the sun every
365 days (approx). It doesnt matter if youre in a plane or
running faster than the suun rotates or whatever. If youre
saying that as soon as a day starts at the earliest point on
the international date line, there are exactly 48 hours
until that same day is finished with at the very last point
before the interantional date line, you could, by the same
token, say that its possible to skip days. So all in all its
about as good an argument as saying breakfast on saturdays
are usually pretty healthy.
