i've heard some stuff highly influenced by him and i am
curious if his own works are worth checking out? if "yes" so
which one?

drumming and music for 18 musicians are good starting points

yeah, music for 18 musicians is the one...

There used to be a great article on the net comparing SAWII
& M418M but I can't find it online anymore :(...I've got a
6pg printout of it, very in depth analysis...pity as it's a
good intro to Steve Reich as well....

i like 'electric counterpoint' - i think it's loadsof
guitars producing a sort of delay effect. the orb sampled a
little bit of it on 'little fluffy clouds'.

tits!!!...that article is by you!!! I'm so impressed...I've
introduced a couple of Reich fans to AFX using it...

I always wondered who wrote that as it's bloody good bit of
music analysis...

good one, mate...you done any more writing like this??..

p.s. I knew the link but it was giving me a error and
couldn't find the page - same for the link you give....

strange, the link above works just fine for me. try it again
as is, or switch it to
"http://members.tripod.com/howisya/saw2vsreich.html"
instead..

glad you like the article, i got an A on it in my music
theory class. the assignment was just to do a comparative
analysis for two pieces of music. most people did classical
pieces, and i could've done that too, but this was more fun
for me. i plan to do more writing like that in the future if
i can get a job working for some independent magazine or web
site..

that paper WAS/IS amazing. i've read it twice. it's so cool
to be able to listen to both songs whilst reading it and i
encourage people to do that.

as i recall the music teacher BURNED a copy of Aphex as i
recall cos she liked it so much!

tits is an amazing writer! =0)

hmm..odd..still get a 500 error (Internal Server
error...probably my machine, I'll give it a try when I get
into work...

I'm not suprised you got an A...very smooth piece of
writing...if it's gonna be online, why not send the link to
phobiazero to add to the links page...

thanks again. i spent so much time on it, i totally deserved
the A.. i also wrote twice the assigned page length, i just
got really into it. the prof said it was an incredible
paper.

i don't think he'd put it up if i sent it to him.

smooth, tits....those links work fine for me at work so I
guess my ISP has a problem with Tripod or something stupid
like that...

I reckon he'd jump at the chance at either linking to it, or
putting it up here...e phob the link, if he's not already
reading this...

i'm sure he's come across my mentioning of it in a few
different threads, suffice to say i don't think he'd be
interested in linking to it or hosting it (i can't really go
into detail tho)
