Here's a good review / synopsis about Autechre that was posted at Autechre.nu by I guess Phobiazero. It's a very insightful read...very knowledgable and I hope you all read it. I learned a whole lot of new things...one of them being that John Peel named the tracks for PS2 .. not Autechre. I don't agree with all that he says (he puts down a lot of stuff and doesn't think much of Vletrmx21 >_<) but it's still good.

It's lengthy as he covers all their cds but it's worth it in some new things you might learn about Autechre. :)

I like to think of ep7 as a short ep album, just one that had been expanded (waped) in time and made more microscopic. I don't like when reviewers just sidestep something phenomenal like 4 and 5 on chichlisuite, just like they're oh, just some other song in this big "genre" of stuff that all sounds similar. But I don't even care what I think much less anyone else.

didn't like it, it's sometimes transperant. full of info - yes. it was a good topic for a "ghahah" laugh with some friends.
anyway, respect for that guy's work, i don't think it's easy to gather so much knowledge about an event like autechre.

I know that. But I think it's still important to get feedback from others just like in any line of art. You see new things that way.

I wish they'd make some comments about the vocals in their songs.

I think you can judge music easy. My primary judge is originality. That's is why Aphex blew my away the first time. I never music in this way ever.

wait... wtf...
(amber)"The record as a whole, however, is plagued by a lack of focus. Many of the tracks seem to go nowhere, and the album is very poorly sequenced."
who the fuck is he to say any of that?

I know cygnus. I wrote to him and he said he likes it...he was just putting too much of his own opinion in it...which he shouldn't have. he said he might re-write it.
I was hurt when he said that about Amber :(
