All About Amber

Got it going right now from Foil. Love it so much. It's
got a neat mix of old qualities (Incunabula's claps and
snairs) with their other stages. Id actually say its closer
with LP5 than any other. It's one of their more melodic
disks and it's fun to drive to.

Oh, dear sweet Amber.

I like Amber and Incunabla about equally... to me, they seem
SO distant from their later work. There's a big difference
between my Amber mood and my Confield mood.

They're not bad... but I think they could have been better.
I like the production and the synths, but I can't put my
finger on it... Inc and Amber are missing something. Great
stuff, but very embryonic Autechre, they got much better,
methinks.

True...but I think some of their best work is on amber. Inc
was testing grounds and Amber is like that too I suppose.
Tri Rep is where they find themselves I guess? I don't know
what you'll think of me saying that. Inc and Amber are the
simpler albums...and I like them for that reason.

all that you said is true with incunabula, but not with
amber...amber really is like their real point of departure,
I mean, i amber you begin to see were they are going
to,(incunabula seems to be apart from their process) its
true waht amonbrune said about it being so close to lp5, I
think all their releases have some of amber in them...i
think amber is the "embrion" that they used to create all
the rest of the albums

alone at home... with amber and my keyboard

I actually like Incunabla better... maybe just because of
Kalpol Intro and Bike... maybe my favorite moment in AE
history, those two tracks opening the album. I LOVE Bike!

And since everyone else is doing it... It's 10:47PM here in
Sydney, Nova Scotia, and I'm listening to the Beach Boys'
Pet Sounds. And watching Detroit/Carolina!

it's 11:26 here in St. John's Newfoundland, and I like both
Amber and Incunabula... I haven't heard Amber in a while,
but it's quite good, as is Incunabula... I'd have to say I
like Amber better though... although, 444 from Incunabula is
an amazing track!!!

Amber is an awsome album, so mellow and has that sort of
distant feel to it, especially in foil, I love that track.
My favorite from this album is probably track 8.

On a side note, this is my favorite cd to play while I'm
reading.

I like amber because it shows a kinder, gentler, more
melodic autechre. I love "Slip" best of all.

I don't know why nobody acknowledges the brilliance of
"Nine"! So atmospheric, so beautiful...

Anyway, I think Garbage was really their turning point from
IDM stars to IDM geniuses. Such a great EP. But Amber is
wonderful too.

Piezo is my favourite Autechre track. Literally stunning.
Amber's my favourite Autechre album. It's one of my all time
favourite records. Brilliant.

Ok thx m8, that saves me alot of typing. It's hard to choose
a fav track off of this album, even the ones that start off
sounding a bit dated still catch me later on in the songs.
Amber and Tri Repetea are the only AE releases I like but
they're important classics to me like ICBYD and SAW2 are.
