www.apple.com/quicktime/download

supports AAC, the next-generation audio format after mp3!

Don't get too excited by AAC...

The fuckers covered by so many liscense agreements by Dolby
and others that it's a fucker finding a decent
encoder/player...(apart from this new QT, APPLE got enuff
dosh)...maybe they've lightened up a bit but when I looked
into it 6 months ago, they were actively hunting down
freeware AAC encoders & getting em taken out of
commission...

My MP3CDPLYAER supports it, that why I was interested...but
gave up after all the hassle plus AAC isn't a HUGE leap
forward...

It does have a number of advantages over MP3 (less so MP3
VBR) but certainly not enough to worry MP3; the markets
already chosen...

(Check the AAC-AUDIO website and the names involved...this
is a back door way of somehow grabbing control back of the
standard (MP3 caught on via unliscensed encoders but they
weren't quick enough to clamp down...)...)

fuck big companies...the same ones who want to put copy
protection shit on stuff....they sooooo hate MP3 but they've
let the genie outta the bottle and AAC is an attempt to get
it back...

New quicktime? excellent!

I don't know much about this new AAC format...must be
similar to Microsoft's new proprietary audio format for
media player.

I still haven't heard the quality of an AAC file but I think
there are demos at Apple's site. I'm not as well informed as
jand and therefore can't really rave about it...yet.
