13 autechre!!! nae baaaaaad...decided to categorise the cds
this time in record labels, then they seem to keep in genres
and easily can find...

I categorize them by sexiness, so at one end of my dresser I
keep my Thievery Corporation, and at the other end I keep my
Autechre (because while Autechre is very good, they arent
very sexy IMO)

a-z, although i think subcategorizing all of it
chronologically would be better. but i can't be arsed to
take the time.

My CD collection is basically laid out in order of how much
I like the artists! I have some CD towers and this
flip-style thingy like at music stores. The Beatles are at
the front of the flip things, with the artists behind them
getting progressively worse. :-)

Now, I just organize my MP3 collection nice and neat and
orderly. Getting a new hard drive today, so this collection
is getting much bigger, heh. The CDs just sit there rotting.

yes, I do have a database... and how is that sad? :)

I organize my database by overall artist genre, then artist,
and then album...

for the actual cds, well I just organize then by Group or
Artist, and then I organize the cds in chronological
order...

i organize them by genre mainly. Afx, Autechre,
Squarepusher, Plaid and u-Ziq on one place, then hip-hop,
then punk, then metal, then jazz, then bossanova, then
whatever´s left "un-genred"

i just stack them any old how, then i can come across
something i haven't listened to in a while and (ah) become
pleasantly surprised. i have 200 odd cds so it's not so hard
to find stuff...how many cds and records do you guys have?!

stuff i don't like, i just put it in a cupboard and forget i
ever bought it.

errrrm. let see.
Next to my bed:
Electronic, Ambient, rock, pop, goth/industrial/folk
section

Hidden in the closet:
House, techno CDs that I rarely play

Next to my computermonitor:
Classical music sorted by composer

...and stuff that I've just played is scattered across my
room. I'm often too lazy to put them back...
