Coldcut question

Help needed!

I've wanted to know for a while now: in Coldcut's More Beats
and Pieces, there's a bit in it somewhere where there's this
sample of a bird making a squawking sound (it's a cuckoo in
a cuckoo clock in the video), and the melody kind of
metamorphoses into a synth line. I'm sure the melody is
sampled from an old hiphop tune. A very similar line is
used in KRS One's Step Into a World, but I'm sure it's from
something much older.

What is it? Please. This has been bothering me for ages.

Fair enough. I think I might go to bed soon too. My
monitor screen can wait until tomorrow.

You could always try emailing coldcut to get that info. They
is busy, but if you keep it short, don't ask too much, and
make it known that you are just a fan, they might
accomodate.

No... but I am sure you can get that info from one of their
sites...

I am just speculating here... but this kinda stuff has
worked for me int he past.

Even tho coldcut has a lot of respect in music circles, its
not like they have fans knocking down their doors.

http://www.samplespotter.com

It has a listing of a ton of samples. It gives the artists
sampled and the person who sampled it.
