Biosphere owns all ambient! Substrata is an AMAZING fucking cd man... I tell everyone to get that cd. I got blue_clax on this mb to order all of Biospheres cds to his record store here in my city so I can buyem all. I love biosphere. My fav tracks are #2 and #7... kobresia or whatnot.... its so damn good.

I've heard some tracks from Shenzhou on the radio. It doesn't sound as warm as Substrata but a bit darker. It needs a closer listen. Geir Jenssen has definitely poduced some of the finest ambient pieces IMO

I'm not loving Shenzhou as much as Biosphere, although how could I?
I happen to think that Biosphere is one of those career defining releases against which are all others are measured. It is amazing indeed.

I think Biosphere's earlier stuff - Microgravity and Patashnik - are better. Those are both incredible records, and quite different to later stuff...

yes, it's a remastered Substrata with another CD "man with a movie camera" which is very good too, think of it as a bridge between Substrata and Cirque.
Anyway, if you like Biosphere, I think you'll like "Stars of the lid - The Tired Sounds Of Stars Of The Lid" as well. I fall asleep to that album all the time :)
