The only thing surprising about this would be if it was the
first time they did it...

Fuck if I know. I don't really get exposed to much
advertising unless it's on during Spongebob Squarepants or
the Daily Show.

Bullox.

Just because it is used to sell a product doesn't mean the
music is any less good.

Hahahaha. I don't watch tv anyway. I am immune.

It suits the ad tho.... I think its a great one.

I like it when ads use this sort of music.

I don't see what you all get so het up about! like you've
all got corks up yer asses!

offline marlowe from Antarctica on 2002-05-29 14:52 [#00240643]

yeah, why the hell shouldn't an artist sell their musical
creations for money!? that's what creativity is for isn't
it? to make money

hell, we need to make sure these friendly corporations have
access to all the best musical artists, to the best
directors, the most imaginative script writers! i myself am
emailing ronald mcdonald suggesting he use "come to daddy"
in his next advertising campaign!

these people with corks up their asses need to realise that
the corporations are our friends, with our best interests at
heart! if people cant handle the pressures of seeing
fashionable, thin, and beautiful successful people on tv,
then frankly, they deserve the suicidal lives they live!
damn, what a bunch of whiners!

my dream is to have my music used by a credit card company,
or a loan company, in a commercial -- *sigh* it's too
uncommercial at the moment tho :( i'm workin on it tho

Do you anti-commercialization of good music people really
want the money to go to someone like Britney Spears or
something like her instead?

I haven't seen this commercial, but I'm sure it's better
than the Britney Spears pepsi commercials that she got paid
several million dollars to appear in...

i don;t get your hangups about artists using their music in
adverts and stuff..

a piece of music in an advert still has it's anonimity,
which i like, it's like a subliminal message to the naive
about what kewl music is out there, more influencial, and
catch you unawares

britney's boobs are a product of puberty, not surgery. the
only thing fake about her is her personality (lack of).

i am sick of people dissing people who pimp their music to
those good fellows, the corporations! so what if they have
to screw a few people over and pay some of their employees
nominal wages! those people are probably retarded in some
way -- probably don't even deserve the minimum wage they
get! it's not up to a creator of music to have social
conscience! they have to pay rent too you know!

if a person's imagination and skills are not marketable,
then they should be left to rot n' atrophy -- and poor
people should have studied harder at school -- they should
be automated out of their workplace as it is! they should be
shot in fact! along with people who disrespect money and
capitalism!!

Do the people who actually buy FANTA or FUBU or ADIDAS
actually deserve music by well known IDM Artists ?!
.......Tsts, it might be a good way for them Artists to make
money, but it doesnt do their music justice, because it
comes down to simple "Background muzak"

offline Aaladorn from Hull (United States) on 2002-06-03 00:07 [#00247122]

Not really background music, because if you took out the
music, it'd be a pretty lame/boring commercial I'm sure.
