Anyone into this guy? I just bought an album of his, Ha,
and it's pretty cool so far... You know me, loving the world
music...

Oh, and I also ordered in LP5 by Autechre... can't wait to
get that one!! :)

I love mixtures of different styles like this... Indian
music mixed with electronic music, what a great combo...

Ha is ok.... 'ok' wasn't all THAT good... although i thought
the tracks 'light' and 'butterfly' were awesome.

apparenlty tom jenkinson knows talvin, and a couple of years
ago they used to jam, talvin on tabla and SPQ on bass. But
they never recorded anything and tom doesn't like any of
talvin recorded stuff.

i personally prefer some Nitin Sawhney and Asian Dub
Foundation for east/west fusion shite.

"Ok" is quite lame, esp when you think about the hype it
got. Dissapointment deluxe.

this guy Talvin Singh is a world-class Tabla player or
something is he not? I believe I read that somewhere...

well, I own the asian underground. But uhm I only like the
first few tracks. He came up with some good tracks tho he
dissapoints me more often I guess.
I love that "OOONIESHAAAAAIIINIEEEEEESHAAAAINIE" tune. That
beat rules!

NOT AT ALL!!!

O.K. is my favourite Talvin Singh song.
Both the original and the heavy rotation refixx.
The sound of the lyrics is so beautiful!

(I'm going to search for those lyrics)

yeah but talvin is a big-headed cunt now. Did any1 else read
the Q interview he did?

he was slagging all the other Mercury prize nominees off,
saying they are all shit and he deserved to win. and then
went on to slag of nitin sawhney.

I went to a concert of him.
It was one of the best shows I've ever seen!
It was sooooo relaxing and exciting at the same time.

this album Ha sounds a lot like The Afro Celt Soundsystem to
me, which is good for me because I love them... I like this
album...

I really like the song Abalonia... nice spoken word over
some cool break-beats, with nice flutes and ambient synths
in the background... very relaxing!!

The Kid Loco remix of Traveller is grrrrrreat as Tony would
say. I wasn't struck by OK though. Anokha: Soundz of the
Asian Underground is a good compilation.

Has anyone heard Badmarsh and Shri's last album. There's
some so, so stuff on their but also some really beautiful
music.
