well, i just returned from my school trip to montreal and
quebec city

montreal... wow!
what a great city
so much more personality than toronto...
toronto seems so bland and boring looking in comparison
(here its grey concrete or glass buildings, layed out on a
grid)
in montreal, there are actually old buidings.. which look
MUCH MUCH better than new buildings trying to look old (u
know what i mean?)

i wont bore u with all the details of my trip... but to sum
it up:
girls there = amazing! (at least looks-wise... i think its
caused by the large num. of major universities there)

every other car u see is a volkswagen! (this may seem like a
stupid thing to notice... but it was really weird)
there are SO many there, its not funny... walking down an
average block like 5 of them would pass us w/ more parked
around... weird
i think its cus people there think of themselves as more
european, so they want to get VWs to complete the look
(audis too)

...and everyone speaks english, which is very conventient!
(the province of Quebec is supposed to be french speaking..
and it is, except that most people speak at least some
english, and many are fluent in it)
montreal ESPECIALLY so..... i didn't have any language
problems there, and we spoke to a lot of people
(directions/store clerks/shit like that)
my teacher who went to university there said you could prob.
get by no problem speaking not a word of french..... at
least in the city

anyways.....
anyone ever been to montreal? what did/do u think?

speaking university in montreal (its supposed to be good)

anyone know anything about the city, or university that
could help my decision?
ill be applying to universities this winter

Montreal is awesome, obviously. I might move there someday.
But I say that about EVERY city in the world...

My cousin is going to McGill next year. Maybe if you go
there, you'll meet him and fall and love with him and get
married and then be related to me.

Is it so farfetched?

I live 5 hours away from Halifax. 4 if you drive really
fast. I love Halifax, it's yet ANOTHER in a long line of
places I want to move, only I probably actually will go
there eventually.

Never been to Toronto, and I don't want to. :-p That there's
MAPLE LEAF country!

I live in Nova Scotia, but more specifically, CAPE BRETON.
The stubborn old guys here consider this a whole different
province than Nova Scotia. Amazingly, we have roads! We
might even get running water someday! :-o

I HATE Cape Breton, although it is kind of nice. It just
isn't for me.

And Cape Breton is another island off Nova Scotia, which is
almost an island unto itself.

i think ur thinking of newfoundland

nova scotia comes extremely close to new brunswick... i dont
know if they are actually connected, but if they aren't its
prob. only a short distance, very easily bridged that
wouldn't even be apparent on a world map

newfoundland is the big island surrounded by the ocean...
pei is the other one, but it is tiny, and actually joined by
a fucking huge bridge

Nova Scotia and the Cape are seperated by this TINY
causeway. You could swim across it.

Nite, B3n. MHTRTC is something else, eh.

btw, to add to my trip sumary:

i bought Plaid - Double Figure while i was there!
i love it!

i also went to quebec city...
the old part is really beautiful (very old... one of the
first cities in canada), but not very exciting, sort of an
old person's city :)
also, ive been there many times before, so there wasn't
anything new

i didn't mention what we did..... but it was mostly turist
stuff.... museums, tours, the olympic park, thats kind of
stuff

yes, Newfoundland is off in the ocean just like England...
Nova Scotia is just across the water though... actually, if
you get the ferry from Port Au Basque here in Newfoundland,
it goes to Sydney Nova Scotia where Ophecks lives... just a
little tidbit of infor there... :)

and yeah, I was in Montreal a couple times... once I can't
remember too well, and another time in high school on a band
trip (which was a blast)... the band trip was really to
Ottawa, but we took a bus to Montreal for a day, well,
really an afternoon... but it was still cool... It was
weird, because a major mall there was closed just after
supper (around 6:00 or so I guess) because we wanted to go
there just before we went back to Ottawa... that was
weird...
