I have Incunabula, Tri Repetae ++, and Chiastic Slide... I
was thinking about EP7, as I listened to a bunch of samples,
and they really sound cool and inticing, and plus, I don't
think the store carries Amber or LP5... but I'm not totally
sure...

why laugh at my seriousness? who would have known that soo
much response can come from the words "haha" "hehe" "hoho"
"huhu" & "hihi"

I really wish I was high right now. I suppose if I listen to
Amber right now. OVER & OVER it will eventually make me feel
high. that album is tight.

you should probably get amber before you get anything else
imo... you seem like a fan of ambient music to me Funk, and
Amber is unlike any ambient you've ever heard, in a good
way... if you can't find it around, use ebay, or e-mail me
and I'll send you a copy, keep dat funk alive!

...funny you say that, because of the albums I've heard
(Incunabula, Amber, Tri-Repetae++, LP5 and Confield), each
has it's own distinct style to it, they vary greatly, yet
it's still the same great abstract music

i ordered Envane and Cichlisuite from warpmart the other
day, and have not been dissapointed!!

Tilapia/yeesland/krib are fantastic
tracks 1,3 and 4 of envane are great

offline CORTEX from Canada on 2002-05-27 02:40 [#00236498]

definitely get lp5! it's their best work imo.

offline The_Funkmaster from St. John's (Canada) on 2002-05-28 04:01 [#00238201]
Points: 16280 Status: Lurker

well, I'm proud to say I ordered LP5 today... can't wait to
get it!!! Next will be EP7 methinks, because Amber I don't
think is available...

speaking of EP7, is it priced normally as an ep, say around
10 bucks, or as an album, say around 20?

offline CORTEX from Canada on 2002-05-28 04:04 [#00238206]

as an album...

offline Taxidermist from Black Grass on 2002-05-28 04:04 [#00238207]
Points: 9958 Status: Lurker

It was sold as an ep, but its the lenght of a full album.
When I bought it it was priced inbetween...

EP7 is soooo good. You will not regret it.

Amber on the other hand only has two good songs.

offline revpersona from Plainfield (United States) on 2002-05-28 04:05 [#00238208]

I'd get Amber. I enjoyed AE's first 3 albums the most.

yeah, cichlisuite is probably one of my favorite ae
releases...sorta in the style of lp5, but more melodic..

weird grinningcat, track 2 on envane is my favorite from
that one...

its actually one of the few (easily obtainable) ae releases
i dont have...im waiting to get my credit card back in
order..so i can get the british version

Ep7 has this ''dirty'' feel, so different from Lp5... it's
too fucking great to be believed. Turn Ccec up to 11 and
watch the neighbours get all scared.

you should listen to everything. first get amber. then,
everything else. lp5 & ep7 are abnormal, much more
experimental than amber, but you will like it:) if you
existed afetr listening to chiastic slide, you can listen to
everything else:)

the hidden track is available on european release.

well I have Incunabula, Tri repetae ++, and Chiastic Slide
right now, and I ordered LP5 yesterday... I used to have
Amber in MP3 form, but don't anymore... when I get LP5 I'm
gonna order EP7, and maybe another ep, maybe Cichlisuite or
something...

lol @ Ophecks. I'll have to try that someday. Watch them
ask what the lyrics are. "What exactly are they saying?"

The hidden track is really not that great. It's on the Warp
version but not the Nothing (US) version.

yeah, the hidden track is something i haven't expected from
a serious musicians like autechre. lp5 to ep7 is the perfect
way of listening autechre, get confield after that and close
yourself listening to garbage ep.

yeah......everyone has their favourite AE moment but
everyone's is different so I reckon it's best to go with the
order of release so you can follow the same journey they've
made over the last 10yrs or so....

Basically...

Take your time...
Savour each Release...

yeah..GG is gonna be a milestone AE release....

& the video is as brilliant as you'd expect from AE (one of
the only bands that I've never felt let down by...)...not
long to go now....

It's gonna be a good good summer :)...

stickers????...think I'd much rather have the visuals that
are on the DVD than some dodgy promo stickers....

(and theres something a bit weird about AE on vinyl...they
strike me as being the ultimate "Digital" band, almost
custom made for CD/DVD...seems kinda anachronistic to put
their stuff on vinyl...not trying to start a
DigitalVsAnalogueVsCDVsVinylVsPCVsMac war here...just kinda
thinking out loud...)

i know what you mean - the first autechre i bought was peel
sessions 2 - like, the most clinical sounding cd i'd
heard...

stuff like gescom would seem more normal on vinyl - the
stuff that sounds like it was made using something steam
powered..

yeah, they've got a great little setup with GESCOM &
AE...lets em stay in tunie(ish;) with the dance music world
& their roots...

I don't really think of AE as a dance band anymore...they've
moved so so far beyond that....
