a good advice: pick 5 of your favorite colors and find out
if they go together

offline Junktion from Northern Jutland (Denmark) on 2002-05-21 09:12 [#00227869]

Its always good to have at least 5 colors for the design...1
for the background, 1 for links, 1 for text, 1 for table
background (if needed) and 1 for hover-links

Make sure you use a lot of flash so that only people with
the most powerfull computers and fastest connections can
view the page.

That kinda stuff seems to win awards.

I am really tripping off of colder pastels colors right now.

Like the ones I used in my avatar.

yeah...Orange/Blue works well...They are complementary
colours in colour theory...been doing some work with em
myself; in the real world tho, not digital...

2 nice schemes to go for are:

Same Hue/Diff Saturation ... so you use a single colour and
choose diff saturations of that...

Different Hues/Same Saturation ... Choose different colours
but ensure the saturation is the same...you get schemes
similar to the colder pastels you speak of Taxi...

And yeah, DW is very cool....but what's all this dissing
Flash???...;)..sure, you can overuse it but take a look at
those Award Winning sites and you'll see they use Flash with
some restraint...
