Drukqs just sounded so predictable.

come on guys druqks is a great album. SOme people dislike
it becasue it's not the absolute newest sounding thing
...but there are some really great melodies on it.... just
imagine that it came out before come to daddy. leave genre
creating to Autechre

Genre creating???
Maybe couple a years ago.
AE been doing the same thing for years.
Don't get me wrong i love their music but i don't agree with
most people here on AE being the biggest inovators.

Ahh, I'd agree that new Kid 606 is the shit at the moment.
I've listened to it about 20 times in the last 7 days which
says something...

Yeah squarepusher has been puting out some groundbreaking
shit lately.
The "untitled" is mental !!!
That is inovating !!!

autechre IS the best, there's just no competition. truly
original, where as aphex has stayed with his "rdj album"
sound for the last six years. it's all about never doing the
same thing twice with ae, that, and the fact that i love
their music and they seem like two nice chaps, make me love
'em even more than i love the twin.

autechre's recent stuff IS better.

Official statement: I love them both and I don't think
I could pick which is better. Hmm.. two different artists
with different ideas, one cannot debate which is better when

we're speaking of personal taste.

I'M your daddy.

c'mon guys, confield is 'greater' caus it's an album that
was very perfected & prepared, drukqs was what? many tracks
of songs rdj has in somewhat the same style+others, put
together, you cannot use drukqs to compare with confield,
they are opposed in effects too.
confield is more like an ambient album to me, where drukqs
tries to affect every emotion and everything.
AND don't forget that songs on drukqs are meant to be danced
to... do you know a song on confield u can dance to???

not changin hgis sound...
are you triying to say rdj album sounds like windowlicker
that sounds like drukqs??? i don't thinkn so

err.. I thought Drukqs was an OLD album of OLD songs forced
out by an eager record company? Why did people expect more
of it, or it to even sound new when it clearly wasn't.
Weirdos. Accept it for what it is and rate it as such..

wise words
btw i enjoy confield very much

ae is more "specific", you really have to be in the mood for
listening to it — otherwise it's really boring. (i
downloaded pen expers off confield once, and didn't even
listened to the whole track... whereas i love acroyear2 for
example... i usually keep tracks i don't like and give them
a second chance, sometimes a third, a fourth...
considerating it's an acquired taste, but this time i felt
like i wouldn't ever get into it...)

afx is more varied and easier to get into.

Eager record company? You guys sometimes make warp out to be
the bad guys. Perhaps they are being like that because RDJ
acts like a spoild kid sometimes?

As far as warp is normally concerned, its the artists say
when and how something is released.

offline Thelonious Punk from *fap fap fap* on 2002-05-20 13:21 [#00226529]

Warp isn't a BAD record company.. not compared when some of
the bigger ones out there..

And who here knows Richard D. James? I don't think his
attitude is the point though.. my point was that warp asked
him for something.. he gave it to them as a lot of it was
going to get on the net anyway... Why did everyone expect
more?

"Drukqs sounded like one of the most
generic IDM albums I have ever heard. "

"songs on drukqs are meant to be danced
to... do you know a song on confield u can dance to???"

"Drukqs is boring. Confield is
interesting. "

...a "generic idm album"?! wtf???
this makes me wonder if you even listened to it of if
somebody got the wrong album... i don't know a lot
about idm, but i never came across another idm track which
sounded like drukQs...

im still into afxs middle stuff (his classics being okay and
his new stuff being fairly...well all sounding too
similar...to me, anyway)

and ive only heard tri repetae by autechre
to me theure pretty even.

repetition can sometimes build a song, tho
its not like the more patterns you use, the better the
song.
it gives you something to hold onto

what the fuck am i trying to say?

i liek squarepusher way more than either of them
and go plastic is by far my fave idm CD ever (that ive heard
of)
with jega - geometry coming seconds closely (but thats also
coz i only got it the other week)

I'm liking Autechre better than ANYONE right now, they're my
current faves. But Aphex was funner to get into, his stuff
is so much more varied and exciting. He's the Beatles of the
electronic world, does everything well.

I'd say overall I like RDJ more, but it's soooo close...

yeah, I love both Aphex Twin and Autechre... sometimes I'm
really into Aphex Twin, sometimes it's Autechre... now it's
BoC though... and although I know everyone will disagree, I
think BoC are the most musically talented out of Autechre,
Aphex Twin, and BoC... maybe not technically talented as
them, because BoC's music is not as wild and crazy, but I
think they're musically more talented, meaning they compose
better melodies and all that jazz... but it's hard to
compare the three, because they are so different... I'm just
posting this based on my personal preferences...
