I know that this is Aphex Twin site, and a lot of you probably hate Metal, but I have to ask another view on the argument Linkin are just another Boy Band, I personally think that they are not but would like to here ssomeone elses point of view ! |

No they're not but I can see why you think that. They were actually in a issue of Kerrang! ages ago, maybe bout 8 months before they released Hybrid Theory. Most people will hat them coz thay have that nu metal/pop image but image doesnt matter to me. It's a good album they've got going there. Do you like them Mark? |

Yeah I do like them, I going to seem them at london arena on Sept 16, I was reading about this argument in metal hammer, I really did wonder if thats what everybody thinks, Hybrid is a good album, what i don't get is they say all this stuff but Papa Roach and Crazy town are more acceptable, it really has me confused |

personally, I dont like Crazy Town and Papa Roaches album isnt great. Linkin Park are definatly not Manufactured though. I dont know why people think that either. I prefer Deftones, Tool, Fear Factory... Another thing I dont understand is why people totally write off genres of music! I dont think I'd even slag off pop, I just wont listen to it. Its easy listening for people and it does its job. < I bet we'll get people slagging us off while I'm typing this for talking bout metal even though we both love Aphex Twin!!! :) > |

I kind of feel sorry for the kids who only listen to that kind of music, it seems so nihilistic and self-defeating. I am quite probably wrong tho, as I don't claim to be an expert on nu-metal. I think Lincin Park are fucking terrible. Their music is extremely average and the lyrics (as with bands like Papa Roach, Limp Fucking Bizkit - GOD I HATE THOSE CUNTS, etc) are absolutely terrible. I can't stand listenning to bands who sing about the most ridicolous, God-aweful-shite and make loads of money out of it. I rate Tool, and A Perfect Circle, however because the lyrics, singing and dynamics match the incredibly inventive music behind it. Deftones are wicked too - that guy can properly sing. Rage Against the Machine go without saying. |

one of the linkin park tracks blatently rips of FIght club. It sasy "workign jobs you hate to buy shit we don;t need" or something along those line. It does it at another part as well, but i cannot remember what it says then. |

Personnaly, I think LP (Linkin Park) is just a come-to-late band in the list of "metal" band's already. There all preety much the same thing, we messages such as "My life is fucked up because of my Dad". **yawn** boring. Rage? I don't mind Rage, there not super-exciting, but at least it's refreshing to see a band take a political pose...nothing like that has been as strong since Public Enemy. hehehe... Anyways, back to Linkin Park, it find there music is kinda lame, as with most bands "me vs dad" bands. They can't be to serious about there music if they take the time to thank their parents in the sleeve notes. (not that i buy the albums, i've just read my friends). Oh well.... |

If you want me to say something nice about the band, for the way these metal bands are going lately, it's not bad. The average...the best i've seen lately would probably be Tool... it's not like any of these bands are doing original stuff with this me vs parents thing, ever heard the song "Get in the Ring" by Guns n' Roses? nuff said... None of these albums compare to the anything by Aphex though. :) |

Most of nu-metal/rap rock comes from the commericialisation of popular youth culture in the US. Basically all it does is conjoin americas two favourite genres: hip-hop/rap and rock. Which is fair enough, but not very novel. Come on guys, do you think RDJ cared whether his new album sold or not? I like the comment about, "fuck you, i won't tidy my room." Clever. |

I Tend to disagree that Linkin Park are just another Papa Roach because I can't stand them either (pap Roach) but i was watching the highlights of Ozzfest and i can only say that bands like Crazytown and Papa roach had the facts given to them when the audience didn't react to there music, Fred Durst and limp biz are well it goes without saying (Crap) one hit wonders, I'm a big fan of the deftones and have been since the end of nirvana and have followed that route, Im also a big fan Of Rage, Hole (Bastard), but also have a strong taste in alternative music which is where Aphex called me from the metal scene, if it wasn't for aphex Twin, I probably wouldn't have left metal music I give linkin alot of respect and would definately not give them a slateing thats why i'm going to their next U.K. gig I'm not sure that Andy Wallace would have been involved with their album if he thought they would be anything like Papa Roach, and there is a wide growing respect for them as they have put up with alot of shit and are still going for it the only way of telling weather they are true to the scene is to see how the money effects them and how well there next album is structured. |

I detest drowning pool and linkin park and limp bizkit myself. Linkin park, I guess I respect the DJ and the rapper. I loathe the vocals and from what I've heard the band.. sucks. Deftones, Tool, APC, etc etc... good stuff. Saw Tool not too long ago actually |

linkin park is... not so bad. their album is completely over-produced since the band spent to much time screwing around with it in the studio... they also have one track I think it's #11 that sounds like an aphex or squarepusher rip-off... all in all they don't do much for me. |

Hello, I'm back from the dead, not literally, but had a few pc problems so couldn't reply, Little did i, know Linkin were very good live and have definately arrived late, unlike the Deftones or Tool they have unffortunately gotten the wrong following, the average age of the family values tour must of been 3, i'm sure some of the kids were still teething, and a lot of people were looking for trouble. Good band ruined by the fans, I think I'm getting old Most of my favourite bands are either split up or one of the band members has died. |

I dont like Linkin Park... but they are hardly as bad as Limp Biscuit. Linkin Park seem (to me anyway) to be just as fake as Westlife.
