I think its really sad that artist rip each other off. Most
of the songs were really good, and they would have gone on
to do great things if they had only licensed the music or
come up with something original. I present a list of artists
who would have done great things if they had done it the
right way.

1.The Verve - bittersweet symphony
These guys would have ruled rock and roll!!! If they wouldnt
have ripped off the Rolling Stones then they Id be willing
to bet that each of thier following albums would have had a
top 10 hit.

2.MC Rob Base and DJ Ez Rock - it takes 2
They would also have gone on to be huge! But due to bad
management and the fact that they ripped off one of James
Brown's background singers made them fail.

3.Vanilla Ice
Ok, he just plain sucks anyway, but he went on to be music's
biggest asshole in my opinion. He ripped everything from
Wild Cherry to Queen&David Bowie. He lied about his past,
saying that he was a "gangsta" and that he grew up in the
hood.

Its just disgusting. These artist could have been so big and
done so much it almost makes me sick because they couldnt go
through the trouble of asking to sample something. Rob Base
& DJ Ez Rock invented a whole new genre for christ's sake!
"Hip house" is a very sample driven style of music where you
combine hip hop with dance music. Its disgusting and its
sad.

verve WERE huge in england and released several albums. in
my opinion the rolling stones sample on that song was blown
completely out of proportion by the stones themselves. it's
not even a sample of a stones song, but an orchestral
interpretation of one of their songs. they broke up (for the
2nd and final time) cos the band members hate(d) each other.

muse
coldplay
travis
etc etc

radiohead ripoffs, all of them.
tho muse seem to be heading in a direction with some
originality, they suck the least of the radiohead ripoffs.
coldplay makes me vomit

ie they take radiohead melodies and add happy sunshiny
lyrics to them. that's what makes me vomit

coldplay and travis are hardly "happy sunshiny" -- travis
are, however, totally dull and shit -- i like the two
coldplay songs ive heard, both of which were bittersweet

Madonna.

She just gets in the 'hip' producers to copy the kind of
music they are doing.
