i personally think that Drukqs is hugely under-rated. a lot of people say that its full of filler, and to some extent that could be true, but it is all extremely good music. But after having listened to the album since it has been around, i reckon that the drill and bass tracks (or whatever the hell you wanna call them) are phenominal. i dont know how anyone can say the album is not good.... if there is anyone who doesn't like Drukqs id be greatful if you could give a constructive explanation as to why |

It was mainly the music critics, like rollingstone gave it one star, and some other magazines gave it bad reviews. They were all more mainstream top 40 music mags. Im pretty sure NME and others gave it a good review. I think Drukqs is great i really like his piano works, fresh very original, but with classical tradition. |

its crap definitely the worst richard album to date...hes recycling himself big time,and hes not even good at it.. take a break richard,and try to think a little bit before you release something next time... |

Drukqs is me fave album of his so far... it's got the most songs on it that i like out of any of them. Something real bad? Classics. Can't think of a single songs taht's good on it. You know whats even worse? Polygon Window. All cheap sounding and have no musicianship. But just about everything else I have is perfection. Next stop: Mike and Rich... |

frankly I don't tend to like music for its artistic value or technical prowess, how "expensive" it sounds, whatever. I just like music for its poetry, its ability to paint the feeling, world, or image that it's attempting to portray. and though I absolutely loathe a few tracks on drukQs, there's some tracks that show total mastery in this portrayal. drukQs also has this surreality to it that I haven't heard on too many other releases by anyone, except maybe Hangable Auto Bulb and SAW2 (though that's of a different type, I think. so, yeah. I liked about half of drukQs. and that half was very good. |

I think drukqs is the sound of AFX finally getting his digital chops fully mature...it's easy to fall into the same old territory of an analogue techno standard sound (like say Boc)...major props to AFX for taking this genre further into the phuture instead of looking back all the time.... What comes next for AFX?...I've no idea whatsoever... & that's just the way I like it... |

Drukqs is fucking amazing, my favorite electronic album... there IS too much filler, though... I think it would have been perfect chopped down to 76 minutes or something. The hard tracks in particular are really amazing... and the piano tracks are harmless and pleasant. The crap like Gwarek and Lornaderek is what gets on my nerves! |

I thought those were nice; they added a sort of cinematic storyline to the album. I'm glad they didn't just attach them to the end of songs though, since if you want to appreciate Drukqs as strictly a piece of music and not a story, then you can skip those. if Lornaderek weren't directly in front of Penty Harmonium, I don't think its emotional impact would have been as intense (I burst into tears the first time I heard Penty Harmonium). so I think they're important to the album. |

Not everyone loves it. I think its OK, but thats a stretch, its not old nice AFX with more creation and imagination, it was a let down to a long term afx fan like me, personally. I think he could have done much better. It was pretty boring. |

You burst into tears at Penty Harmonium? You pussy. :p Just kidding. But I never thought that track was too, err, overly emotional or anything... and Lornaderek seems like pure wanktitude, that crazy Richard and his mummy. I agree with Chapman, it's ANYTHING but boring... there's so much going on all over the place... I remember going through the tracks when I first downloaded (evil grin) Drukqs, and wondering what the fuck would happen next, what kind of craziness the next track would be... I love it. |

but its my opinion. I think Drukqs is quite boring, I dont listen to it .. hardly ever, so therefore its boring to me, it doesnt interest me, so what if its crazy? Its not that original and its not too exciting for me. |

Penty makes me think of Richard, sitting alone on his Brithday, on the docks, playing an accordian to himself whilst his parents have left him a message, only for him to have not heard it (since his phones in that bloody basement 24/7) and pretty sad that he has noone to share his day with. Even though it's a wind organ, not an accordian, but still.... |

I thought drukqs was a major dissapointment, and every time I sit and try to listen to it, I find it even more boring than the last time. I would rather sit and listen to BT for two hours than Drukqs. Or froggy mix. |
