Live:
Manchester based Wevie Stonder bring their unique sound alive alive-o in a rare live show, promoting the May release of their new album “Drawing On Other People’s Heads” (out on Skam Records). Expect a raucous blend of new material and old favourites accompanied by fantastic live visual phenomena and live performance artists including a monkey and a tuba player from these Skam records signings (label mates of Gescom and Boards of Canada) famed for their humorous style that mixes tounge-in-cheek covers with electro synth trickery as featured in the pioneering ‘Eat Your Own Ears’ EP (where the name of the night came from!!).
“ Wicked! more Monty Python than Stock, Hausen & Waterman” NME
Djs:
Bootleg king Richard X (Girls on Top) famous for his striking records that mix the likes of Whitney Houston with Kraftwerk and most recent Sugababes production duties on number one hit single ‘Freak Like Me’, makes a rare visit to 93 Feet East to play a typically rich and electric set. Expect a danceable mass of rare tracks and bootlegs where 80’s electronica meets R and B anthems twisting in garage, jungle and hardcore beats on the way.
‘The most creative musician working in bootleg territory’ The Wire
Gescom, (Skam/Autechre) one of the most respected and innovative pioneers of the electronic music scene at the moment and the alter ego of those very intelligent technoids Autechre (Warp Records) take to the decks to play a mix of fractured disco, electro, and raw beats full of electronic ticks and melodic intricacies.
Versatile DJ and pioneering electronic musician, Andrea Parker makes disconcerting beautiful landscapes mixing full orchestration with lo fi samples. Andrea’s genre-breaking music reflects her varied career ranging from a 2 year DJ residency at legendary club Lost, to work with Philip Glass and Can, and remixing Depeche Mode, The Orb, Mira Calix and Steve Reic
