I love what tape does to sound in general - any kind of
tape, even [especially?] cassette. it's a combination of
flanging, phasing, compression, slight distortion, and that
"warm" eq (mostly cutoff of high end and midrange boost). it
also kind of squishes the sound together in a way that I
can't quite describe.

I also love any type of delay.

For video effects, anything The Fast Show has to offer...
made in 94, it still boasts the most incredible camera
manipulation and video effects to make the scenes look
IDENTICLE to what they are portraying... incedible.

Audio, it depends on the song... cutting up is my number one
effect, but that aint an effect is it? Hmmm, sweep filtering
is great, as is distortion.. MR Oizo utilizes that best. I
also like modulation... discovered Aphex uses that ALOT of
the time. Vocoding can be good sometimes. Oh christ, that's
more than two... oh okay, sweep filtering and distortion.
