Why the hell do they do it?

Is it just me...or do the Rephlex staff just do stuff
purposley to piss everyone off.

At times i get extremely annoyed with them, making a EP/CD
ultra rare by only having 3 copies actually made. Take the
Astrobotnia series, i bet you that Versions 1 and 3 will be
easy to get, but because version 2 is on LP/EP they are
gonna make it considerably hard for die hard fans of thier
music to get it.

I hate this type of shit, alot of people do it, WARP
especially do it, with rare Autechre realeses and Aphex's
HAB 1+2 relaeses

Am i the only one who gets pissed off at this?

The spitting Pirate
Murray

Yeh i know...but still, they just purposley do it, they will
get a lot more Money and publicity if they do it like
everyoen else

But then again maybe they dont want to be like anyone else,
maybe they want to make it a challange :S

I think sometimes RDJ is completely full of shit and a
hipocrite. Ie-he was going on about getting rid of copyright
on all his rephlex stuff then makes AB5 so hard
(impossible?) to get

i know......i dont think he realizes how many fans he has
half the time

He needs to brush his noisy red hair out of his eyes and
look into the sea of fans and followers he has right from
the start

Yes, it's annoying. If music is good, it should be available
to everyone.

oh, i'm sure he's well aware of exactly what his fanbase are
like, that's why he's been so successful in manipulating
them

yeah, just the music he's released so far has made me
infinitely happy (though not as much as tom jenkinsons!)

I actually agree, but still...i think its stupid that he
only realesed drukQs cause he lost an MP3 player. Otherwise
i bet we wouldnt hear anything from him for about another 2
years

i love his music.......and i love Squarepusher and BoC's
music.....but someone stated (i think ti was Ophecks) that
IDM artists (use that term carefully) just dont take things
seriously.

The guy that tkes it seriosuly it Tom Jenkinson, he takes
his fans seriously i think, and hes relased shit loads

"I actually agree, but still...i think its stupid that he
only realesed drukQs cause he lost an MP3 player."

you really believe that? I'm pretty sure that's just
bullshit building up the myth & mystique of the music before
its release

i reckon thats one of the reasons... but i mean come on, he
said he was working on Rephlex and Cylob's new shit and what
happens

FUCKING 'MOOD BELLS' HAPPENS

"I actually agree, but still...i think its stupid that he
only realesed drukQs cause he lost an MP3 player."

I kinda like that though, too much mainstream genres are too
far up their own arses to see they are making shit.

"The guy that tkes it seriosuly it Tom Jenkinson, he takes
his fans seriously i think, and hes relased shit loads"

I don't think he takes the fans any more seriously, he just
loves making music and releases it, I don't think he gives
much of a shit whether they like it or not. I mean,
releasing Music Is... is an example of that, its not
disliked, but its not what half the fans wanted

Yeah, about toms seriousness. I reckon this has something to
do with why his music is at opposite ends of the scale. Some
is the most serious and beautiful music and it must take him
ages, programming it. But at the other end, some are like
these humorous splurges of noises, like some of the stuff on
Selection 16. I think he pushes himself to the limits on
some tracks like Tommorrow World then just needs to wind
down and have some fun

I have 5 of his albums and i love most of them to death, but
his Budhakan Mindphone one i cant get used to, only Iambic 5
Poetry

BOards fo Canada on the other hand kick ass, but iwasnt too
fond of Geogaddi

Yeah, I mean, I abolsutely love Selection 16, but that's cos
the good tracks are so good I don't give a shit if some of
the others are crap. And anyway, i've grown to like the
other like snake pass and skizm track 2

yeah but I think last two tracks are filler, someone said my
fucking sound was the one getting played in clubs, I
couldn't believe it

I also reckon tom's overdoing it is the reason he goes on
little trips to unknown places =)

But this is all my theory, i'd have to meet him to really
tell.....but doing stuff that intense has got to have an
effect on you mentally

i agree

Is it just me or do RDJ, Tom and Chris Cunningham all look
like tramps

A mate of mine once said that Chris Cunninghma looks like
one of these people that would smell lol

It is said that all ginger people smell of wee, but i think
RDJ smells more of things that have rolled under the ocuch
LOL

tom is a tortured genius, he's allowed to smell as long as
the don't invent smell-o-audio or something
