not that it will ever make itdown here but what is Brass Eye?..sounds intruiging... we just had the fascist blue rinse set pull a movie I was reallylooking forward to watchin from a festival..VISITOR Q..from the director of AUDITION..it supposeldly lambasted every sexual tabbo know..we even had the tickets and everything... they also campaigned and got the Larry Clark movie BULLY..in the second week..but we managed to watch it in the first... |

Brass Eye is a spoof "Current Affairs Expose" type programme, where Chris Morris in various guises investigates 'Gritty hard-hitting' issues which are usually sensationalised by the real UK media (Drugs, Crime etc) His spoofs are a surreal but almost logical progression on real life situations, like a "reformed" pedophile who takes adolescents onto his bus and warns them of the dangers of pedophiles, by playing strange suggestive role-plays with them.... the best bits are when he gulls Celebrities like Phill Collins & Gary Lineker into supporting (spoof) TV campaigns .... eg getting them to explain the dangers of Pedophiles reaching through computer screens to touch children hundreds of miles away , because they are wearing special "Gloves" ... It is TV which is uniquely cleverly conceived. Morris is a cult-figure in the UK. He is an anti-celebrity. He is a media -antagonist . His programme was responsible for the Daily Mail front page headline "THE SICKEST TV SHOW EVER" None of the politicians who complained had even SEEN the show... |

The whole Brass Eye series including the special was also just released on DVD last monday. Apparently it's already out of stock on play.com as it was outselling for example Lord of the rings. |
